Real talk: Nuke it as many times as you have to.

Have you ever had one of those days where life kept handing you lemons, ALL BLASTED DAY, and left you wanting to either cram said lemons down life’s throat or at the very least bean hard upside the head with them?

That was me, this morning, this afternoon, and to be frank, a bit yet, still, this evening.

I have been nuking the SAME BLASTED CUP OF COFFEE SINCE 11 THIS MORNING!!!…*sigh*.

Will share THAT tale in another post. Good thing for your entertainment values, life has been kicking my hind end on the regular this week…..whew!!!!…..say that!

N-E-Waze, we are beyond, beyond and BEYOND busy at work. So much so, I have been nuking the same blasted cup of coffee since 11!!…..*pout*.

The day has finally semi ended. Kinda sorta as I have two more hours of overtime to do. Yet, since over time is voluntary, I don’t mind making time and a half over work that was getting on my last nerves at the regular pay rate…*shrug*….don’t judge me. Kidding. I love my job. Just super difficult, at the moment with avalanche of work that can never be caught.

I wanted to take a moment, to encourage all to keep on keeping on. There is NOTHING that ought stop us from doing what needs to be done. Tired, and all. We MUST continue to take care of our me time and get a bit of rest, somewhere in the midst of all the chaos.

What?

What!?…..*Cassandra apologies to The Father for semi-yelling*

Me: Whatcha need, Father? Since you are here, now, I just wanted to say thanks for letting me climb on Your Lap so many times today. Work just would NOT end and I thought it would be the end of me. Kept reciting bible verses when all I really wanted to do was to sing myself a nice lullaby and go to sleep. Whatcha need, though?

Him: Ehem, um, it appears your coffee has gotten cold yet again…hehe….

Me: OM-…..sorry ’bout that.

*screams of agony wend themselves towards heaven, causing Jesus to come see what’s up now, as Cassandra races to the microwave to nuke the same cup of coffee she has been nuking since 11!*…

brb,

Cassandra

True that!

What an AWESOME thing to know that THIS day shall NEVER come again in the same way.

Such a humbling notion the notion that these hours are special in that they can never again be repeated as they unfold.

So sad folks are toiling away trying to relive and recreate moments that are just that: Moments!

Live.

Love.

Say.

In THIS day.

In THIS moment.

In THIS present.

STOP looking back. Whether good things happened. Whether bad things happened. No matter how life happened.

It happened, beloved.

Leave it be.

Let it go.

Go.

Grow.

going with you,

Cassandra

Joy.

I am here.

I am glad about that.

Are others glad about that.

‘Nuff said,

Cassandra

You only get THIS time. EnJOY it.😘

Keep going: Writing in the dark.

God heard me.

Work was hard. During the last half hour the internet went down. There went the last of my work day.

There also went my music, my TV watching (Smart tvs are real smart til the internet goes out).

It started storming. Is storming still, if truth were to be told. I had to switch to my data plan to get online. My internet provider is doing maintenance so I am stuck like Chuck for the foreseeable.

Conserving energy, I dimmed the lights and told the dark to kick rocks and decided to keep writing in the dark.

fear, anxiety, doubt and all their friends on still outside. On the porch, terrified of the storm.

I am inside, content, though storms may rage, outside. And, storms may rage, at times, in my job. Yet, I am safe and sound.

NOTHING that we go through in life will keep us down. Not for long. Yet, we still rise.

In the dark.

In the rain.

In sunshine.

Good, bad or indifferent we can, we will continue to write and laugh and love and sing and a million other things.

He in the boat with you, beloved.

Go to sleep.

He got this.

As do you,

getting it with you,

Cassandra

It’s okay to cry.

It’s okay to cry. Good thing as for the past two days I have had to use my last break to have a good five minute crybaby session.

Why?

Life has been acting a fool, workwise. And, the more I have prayed, the harder work has become.

In years past, I would have forced myself to ignore my tears, work harder, and be about being about it.

Okay, real talk, I would have stuffed these tears with a Party Size bag of Doritos and a handful of Snickers.πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I have learned, still learning not to find comfort in things not healthy for me and to have the courage to admit that I ain’t aite and I ain’t all that, if you know what I mean.

Life is short, beloved. Time you and I stop running our hearts in the ground and running ourselves ragged trying to meet expectations we can never fully meet.

I let my boss know I am doing the best I can. And, that’s all I can do.

Do what you can.

Have a cry.

Drink a cup of your fave coffee.

Phone a friend(I phoned TWO friends and one twin. Cried all over sis🀣❀. Didn’t even say hello. Just got to crying. Break was only 15 minutes so no time to spare explaining that I needed to cry).

Read a book.

Read a bible.

Make an omelette.

Do some laundry.

The point is, you ain’t helpless. Your situation is NOT hopeless. Yea, it may be getting on your last nerve’s nerve. The good news is you are not alone.

Your circumstances are not a surprise. Just to you. Us grownups do not care for life surprises. We want things to go as we want them to. Doesn’t Life KNOW who he is dealing with? Why, we are the moon and the stars. Life should come running at our whim.

Til it does, be encouraged.

We got this.

And, when we don’t got this we are STILL enough. Period. We are so much then what we have, what we do, what we wear, what we look like, who we know, who we don’t know, what we don’t have and on and on.

Easter is coming. Your very life was worth the death of a King. How much more priceless can you and I be?

teary but thankful,

Cassandra

Father, I am tired.

Father, I am tired, I said.

‘ Nuff said, said He.

Laying down His Crown, The Father tenderly scooped me onto His Lap and bounced me up and down like a hobby horse.

*Laughing uproarious Cassandra lay her tired head upon His Strong Shoulder, wrapped he’d exhausted arms around His neck, sighed and fell asleep. Patting her back, lightly, The Great One rocked and rock and sang songs of comfort to His Beloved Daughter. After He made sure she slept soundly, The Father strode upon the winds of the night, kicking up stars, in His Wake. Quietly, He lay Cassandra upon a bed of 🌹 rose petals. She was His Rose! Kissing her on the forehead, The Great King set His Sights upon others of His Children*

Just help one.

I care about you.

Be encouraged.

You are needed.

You are loved.

Keep going.

You matter. I have stopped wondering if I matter to folk. I am just choosing to spend the rest of my days loving as many folk who will allow me to do so. The rest will come out in the wash.

The second I stopped trying to understand, I understood.

The second I stopped trying to understand, I understood.

The instant I stopped trying to love, I loved.

The minute I stopped trying to receive, I received.

The moment I stopped trying to accept, I accepted.

The second I stopped trying to surrender, I surrendered.

The instant I stopped trying to forgive, I forgave.

The minute I stopped trying to succeed, I succeeded.

The moment I stopped trying to be, I was.

Be, He said.

I will, replied I.

being me,

Cassandra

This was never your work: Let go of the plow.

This was never your work, beloved.

It was never your job to make him/her/they love you. Folk will or they won’t. Their choice was always about them and seldom about you.

Let go of the plow.

It was never your job to turn the situation around. You were just there to lend an ear/shoulder/hand. Your pom poms were never meant to replace God and Life’s corrections/instructions.

Let go of the plow.

It was never your job to unpack and fold the load of another. You were just there for them to lean on as they caught their breath. Your feedback on what he/she/they should wear was not required.

Let go of the plow.

It was never your job to save your family/friends/community. You were just there to witness and be a witness in however and with whomever God asked you to be available to Him for. HE does the work.

Let go of the plow.

It was never your job to save your workplace in working yourself to death and never seeing to your own needs/goals/dreams. You were there to do your best to support your job and have your goals met as well.

Put down the plow.

It was never your work to ensure folks always had a pillow when going through God and Life things. Folk get put between a rock, The Rock, and a hard place for a REASON. It is THEIR work to do.

Put down the plow.

It was never your job to hide your tears from God, from Life, from others in order to show how tough you are and that you ‘got this’. God and Life got this, got you and you were meant to share the precious meat of your tears with God, with Life, with others. Your tears are precious watering agent God needs to continually restore the soils of your heart and others.

Put down the plow.

It was never your job to play world waitress/waiter by trying to make everyone’s life easy at all times. Life is just that. Life. It happens to us all. You weren’t meant to live YOUR life and support folk as they live out their own.

Put down the plow.

HIS Yoke is EASY. HIS Burden is light. If you find your hands swollen, your back hurting, your shoulders bowed, check to ensure whose and Who you are serving.

If you find yourself toiling underneath the burden of man, you, expectations, the world, others, fear, anger, doubt, gloom, doom, woe and the like…

This was never your job.

Put down the plow.

resting with you,

Cassandra

Come Inside.

“Come, Inside.”

Me: What are You doing, Lord?

He: I am standing at the door. Waiting for them to come in.

Me: Who?

He: Everyone.

Ah! I shall wait with you…
