LAST ONE. FRFR!

πŸ’™πŸ“« ONE LAST POSTCARD β€” LOVE SOMEBODY NOW

Beloveds,

My mother died on Christmas morning in 2016.

Before she died, we had plans. We were supposed to take a vacation together in March. I was going to show her my new car.

I was so sure we had time.

We never got that chance.

We gave away her favorite bears at her funeral. Mom left giving love. I love in her stead..

That’s something life has taught me in a way I wish I had never needed to learn: we can be so sure about later.

Later I’ll call.

Later I’ll visit.

Later I’ll say I’m sorry.

Later I’ll tell them I love them.

Later we’ll take that trip.

Later we’ll sit together.

Later.

And sometimes, later doesn’t come.

Right now, I’m living with uncertainty of my own. I don’t know how much time I have.

But here’s the other truth:

Neither do you.

None of us does.

So please don’t spend all of today waiting for some imaginary perfect tomorrow before you love somebody.

Love somebody now.

Call them.

Reach out.

Sit beside them.

Forgive where you can.

Say the words while somebody is still here to hear them.

And if life has knocked you down, keep going. If you’re tired, keep going. If you’re hurting, keep going.

Don’t give up on yourself.

And don’t stop loving one another.

Jesus said that people would know His disciples by their love.

And one of the first Scriptures so many of us learned says:

β€œFor God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…” β€” John 3:16, KJV

God so loved the world.

There’s the Word.

There’s the assignment.

Love one another.

Love the people God has put in front of you while you have the opportunity to do it.

Don’t wait for March.

Don’t wait for the vacation.

Don’t wait for the perfect day.

Don’t wait until you wish you had said something you can no longer say.

Love somebody now.

And while we’re both still hereβ€”

let’s love this world together.

Take care, Beloveds.

I love you.

Cassandra
