Cry won but that’s okay
Friday, October 16, 2026
Beloveds,
Sometimes the tears win.
And I want to say that plain.
Not dramatically.
Not apologetically.
Not like it means faith packed up and left the room.
Sometimes, cry wins.
And that is okay.
Sometimes the body is tired.
Sometimes the heart is carrying more than words can properly hold.
Sometimes the strain of it all sits so heavy that tears become the only honest language left.
That does not mean you failed.
That does not mean hope disappeared.
That does not mean God stepped away and left you there to figure it out by yourself.
It simply means something in you needed release.
Sometimes a good cry is not defeat.
Sometimes it is how the ache gets softened.
Sometimes it is how the pressure lets up.
Sometimes it is how the heart gets soothed enough to keep going.
Sometimes it is how healing starts making room where pain had tried to take over everything.
So if cry won today, let me tell you something, beloved:
Let it wash.
Let it soothe.
Let it loosen what has been gripping too tightly.
Let it water the dry places.
Let it make room for breath again.
Tears are not always the opposite of strength.
Sometimes tears are strength refusing to turn into stone.
Sometimes they are the proof that your heart is still tender, still responsive, still alive.
And while you cry, remember this:
God has still been taking care of you.
Still covering.
Still holding.
Still keeping.
Still making ways you cannot yet fully see.
Still loving you right in the middle of the moment that feels messy, puffy-eyed, and more honest than polished.
So no, beloved, you do not have to be ashamed if the tears came.
Cry may have won the moment.
But grace never left it.
Love never left it.
God never left it.
And after the tears have had their say, you may find that what is left behind is not ruin.
It may be relief.
It may be softness.
It may be a little more room to breathe.
It may be enough strength for the next moment.
It may be peace arriving quietly after the storm has tired itself out.
So if this is your day, be gentle with yourself.
Cry won.
But that’s okay.
You are still held.
You are still loved.
You are still being carried.
And God is still taking care of you.
still held,
Cassandra
you matter to me.
