I’ve learned to sing, alone.

I’ve learned to sing, alone.

I wanted to sing, with you.

Together.

Forever.

You never came.

So, I’ve learned to sing, alone.

In singing, alone, I found my own song.

Warbly, hesitant, though it may be.

It’s MY voice, it’s my song, and that’s enough for me.

Yes, I wanted to sing, with you.

A duet, a love song, or two.

In singing, as one.

I found:

My, voice.

My, strength.

My, ability.

The, ability.

To make it, alone.

Not part of, a choir.

Not part of, a team.

Able still, to sing beautifully.

I found, my song matters, still.

No matter that I, sing alone.

In, singing, alone.

I found, others who joined.

Their, single voices.

With, my single voice.

Our singleness, now making, us one.

One, choir.

One, voice.

One, song.

Together, we all sing.

In, unity.

Alone.

Yet, not.

Each other, we have got.

Look around you.

You are never, alone.

There are always others, singing their song.

Don’t, be afraid.

To, sing alone.

Lift up, your voice.

Begin to sing, YOUR song.

Warbly, hesitant, though it may be.

It’s YOUR song.

And, that’s good enough, for me.

I’ve learned to sing, alone.

Yet, not.

As, God.

As, Life.

As, Jesus.

All sing with me.

Yes, I’ve learned to sing, alone.

And, that’s okay with me.

singing alone and free,

Jaybird aka Cassandra
