🔑 IT’S NEVER TIME TO QUIT — PIECE FOUR

SOME DOORS DESERVE TO STAY CLOSED.

Beloveds,

I know what this series is called.

It’s Never Time to Quit.

And now I need to complicate my own title.

Because sometimes?

You absolutely need to quit.

👀

Quit going back to the place that keeps hurting you.

Quit begging somebody to recognize a value they have repeatedly chosen not to honor.

Quit confusing endurance with permission for somebody to mistreat you.

Quit believing that because you invested years in something, you owe it the rest of your life.

Quit knocking on a door that has already shown you what is behind it.

🔑

That is not the same thing as quitting on YOU.

There is a difference.

And sometimes we do terrible things to ourselves because nobody taught us that difference.

We hear:

Don’t give up.

Keep fighting.

Have faith.

Try again.

Hang in there.

And sometimes those words are exactly what we need.

But sometimes they become chains when what we actually need is permission to leave.

⛓️

Every closed door is not a challenge to your faith.

Every ending is not a failure.

Every relationship is not yours to rescue.

Every battle is not yours to fight forever.

Every old version of your life is not entitled to the new version of you.

And every NO does not require you to stand outside the door until somebody changes it to YES.

Sometimes the answer really is:

This door stays closed.

And I keep living.

🔑

That matters to me.

Because perseverance should never require you to make a home inside something that is destroying you.

I can leave the cage without leaving myself.

I can abandon the lie without abandoning hope.

I can change direction without declaring my journey a failure.

I can stop begging one door to open and finally notice the whole hallway.

👀

Maybe that is one of the hardest kinds of perseverance.

Not holding on.

Letting go.

Not because nothing mattered.

Sometimes because it mattered enormously.

Not because you did not try.

Sometimes because you tried until you finally learned what trying could not change.

Not because you are weak.

Because you have become wise enough to recognize the difference between persistence and captivity.

🔑

Beloveds, I don’t know which door you are standing in front of.

And I certainly don’t get to decide whether you should knock again.

That belongs to you.

But I want to put a key in your hand today.

You are allowed to ask:

Is continuing here helping me live?

Or have I confused staying with courage?

Is this difficult because worthwhile things can be difficult?

Or is this destroying something in me that deserves protection?

Am I fighting for my life?

Or am I fighting to remain somewhere I was never required to stay?

Those are different questions.

And they deserve different answers.

🔑

Maybe the thing you need to quit is a method.

Maybe it is an expectation.

Maybe it is somebody else’s definition of who you are supposed to be.

Maybe it is the belief that changing your mind makes you a hypocrite.

Maybe it is the shame attached to beginning again.

Maybe it is the lie that leaving means losing.

Because sometimes leaving IS the victory.

Sometimes the closed door is not the end of your story.

It is simply the end of that room.

And Beloved—

there is still a whole world outside it.

🌎

So yes.

It’s Never Time to Quit.

But hear me carefully.

You can quit the cage.

You can quit the lie.

You can quit begging a locked door to become your home.

And you can keep becoming.

You can keep hoping.

You can keep loving.

You can keep learning.

You can keep living.

You can keep being YOU.

🔑

The door can stay closed.

YOU keep going.

You matter to me.
