Little Cassandra wearing headphones beside her golden puppy, with the title I Love Being Me! All Sixty Expressions and Counting!

I Love Being Me! All Sixty Expressions and Counting! 💃🏿🥰❤️

Heart Check — Friday, October 23, 2026 — NOON

🎶 Inspired by I Love Being Me — Affirm with Music

Beloveds, pull up a chair!

I have something to tell you.

I LOVE BEING ME! 💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿

The joyful me.

The thoughtful me.

The curious me.

The puzzled me. 🤔

The amused me. 🤣

And yes, even the annoyed me! 😤

You see, I’ve been having the most wonderful time getting acquainted with sixty different expressions of little ol’ Cassandra.

SIXTY!

And counting!

Can you imagine?

We’ve got delighted, skeptical, bemused, determined, surprised, prayerful, sleepy, curious, and a whole collection of other expressions.

And accompanying Little Me?

A golden puppy!

Because apparently sixty expressions weren’t quite enough excitement around here. 🐶🤣

I’ve been listening to some wonderful music about loving the person you are.

And it has me thinking.

Not about becoming somebody else.

Not about performing a version of myself that meets everybody else’s expectations.

About appreciating the woman who is already here.

ALL of her.

Now, beloveds, here’s our Heart Check.

Have you ever stopped to consider how many different versions of yourself you express in an ordinary day?

Think about it.

You might begin your morning feeling grateful.

Then something happens that leaves you puzzled.

Perhaps somebody says something ridiculous and you burst into laughter.

A few minutes later, something important requires your full concentration.

Then somebody needs encouragement.

And somewhere in the middle of everything, Hard shows up looking for trouble.

Because apparently Hard doesn’t have enough hobbies. 🤣

And there you are!

Still you.

Different expressions.

Different circumstances.

Same person.

I’ve been wondering why we sometimes become so accustomed to describing ourselves by one characteristic that we overlook everything else.

The strong one.

The dependable one.

The serious one.

The quiet one.

The cheerful one.

The one everybody counts on.

But beloveds, a description is not the whole person.

And an expression is not an entire identity.

I can be thoughtful without always being serious.

I can be joyful without pretending nothing hurts.

I can be grateful and still have questions.

I can be annoyed without becoming an angry person.

I can be determined and still change my mind when I learn something new.

And I can admit when I was wrong without deciding that being wrong makes me less worthy of love.

Whew!

Now there’s something worth examining. 👀

I’ve been learning that loving myself doesn’t mean applauding every decision I’ve ever made.

Some of my decisions deserve applause.

Some deserve another look.

And some?

Well, let’s just say Act Right has occasionally needed to pull up a chair and have a serious conversation with me. 🤣

But loving myself means I can examine those moments through eyes of grace.

I can learn.

I can grow.

I can laugh.

And I can get up and do it again.

My Father knows every part of me.

He knows the thoughts that never quite make it into words.

The laughter.

The questions.

The things that bring me joy.

And the moments when my heart needs a little extra tending.

Psalm 139:14 speaks of being fearfully and wonderfully made.

I love considering that.

Not because I believe I’m flawless.

But because my value was never dependent on being flawless.

And neither is yours.

I’ve also been thinking about how easily we overlook the little joys.

A favorite song.

A cup of coffee.

A beautiful view.

A conversation that makes you laugh.

A puppy doing something completely ridiculous.

A quiet moment with My Father.

Those things matter.

Life doesn’t have to become an extraordinary production before we can appreciate being alive.

Sometimes joy arrives in the middle of an ordinary Thursday.

Or a Friday.

Or while you’re wondering what in the world Ref Pain is doing blowing that whistle again!

Somebody please tell that referee to take a break! 🤣

Beloveds, I want to ask you something.

Do you enjoy being the person you are?

Not just the person you’re becoming.

Not just the person you’re working hard to be.

The person sitting in your chair right now.

Can you recognize something beautiful about your curiosity?

Your sense of humor?

Your creativity?

Your compassion?

Your determination?

Even the way you keep trying when things don’t work out the first time?

We spend so much of life working toward something that we can forget to appreciate the person doing the work.

And perhaps that’s worth changing.

Here’s another thought.

Loving yourself and loving other people aren’t competing responsibilities.

I can care deeply about the beloveds while recognizing that Cassandra matters too.

I can celebrate your life without diminishing my own.

And I can delight in your individuality while enjoying mine.

There’s room for all of us.

So today, beloveds, I’m celebrating Little Cassandra and Grown Cassandra.

The golden puppy and his bigger companion.

Every curious question.

Every delighted giggle.

Every thoughtful expression.

Every determined look.

Even the occasional spectacularly annoyed face. 😤🤣

And I’m celebrating you.

Not because you’ve accomplished enough to earn a celebration.

Because you’re a person whose life matters.

Here’s your Friday Heart Check:

What is one thing about being YOU that brings you joy?

I’d love to hear it.

And don’t be surprised if we discover that one answer leads to another.

After all, I started with a few expressions.

Now I have sixty!

And counting! 💃🏿🥰❤️
