I have been writing. All day. And, I mean ALL day. This is why I have been praying for a sabbatical. I can not work 24/7. Yet, my heart can no longer leave these words, inside. Someone needs them. Starting with me. Yet, I can’t not not work, either….*sigh*.
So, I stopped, around 3 pm. Told myself I would make lunch, eat, continue writing. I stopped, made lunch. No one told my writer, though, that it was time to stop writing. My writer kept right on writing. Sadly, my once hot, fantastic-smelling grilled chicken sandwiches, wilted, gave up the ghost, ending up as cold, forlorn, what the world are you waited on monuments of…don’t ask ME, beloveds, I have been writing ALL day!
Finally, I drug my writer, into the kitchen, to reheat my sandwiches. Last night, I thought of sprinkling bread with shredded cheese for some lovely golden, chewy, cheesy goodness.
Ah.
Aha!
Re-imaging, I decided to add a splash of shredded cheese to my now cold sandwiches. I resurrected both, in my air-fryer. In minutes, the wondrous smell of cheese, Irish butter, grilled chicken tenders and steak bread wafted themselves towards heaven. Long story short, beloveds, I now have two wonderfully re-imagined sandwiches growing cold as I type out these words.
Yikes!
Egads!
Lately, God and Life have me watching old movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. One, in particular, I have been longing to see for more than 30 years. It had such a profound impact, on my heart. To this day, I have NO idea why. Yet, I would search and search for it. I could not remember the actress. I could not remember the title. I could only remember snippets. These snippets, somehow, someway, ministered to my heart. They minister, still, at just the vague thoughts of them.
I have been searching and praying, praying and searching, for God to remind me of the name of the movie. God, as per His usual, remained silent. As, alas, did Life. They allowed me to go through the decades, yearning for, seeking out, stubbornly, then angrily asking God to tell me WHY this movie was soooooooooooooo important for my heart to watch, again.
Monday morning, after I had given up, for a while, from looking for this movie, I found whilst looking for other movies to watch.
I found it?
I found it!?
I FOUND IT!!!
I didn’t know what to DO with myself. Hesitantly, I started the movie to make sure it was the right one.
YYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSS!
Truth be told, beloveds, once I saw it was the one, I quickly turned it off. I find, to my surprise, I am not quite ready to watch it. Knowing, I will learn something about me. Something God and Life have been waiting a lifetime, for me to find, to see.
The search, I have found, was never about the movie. The search, I am FINALLY understanding, has led to who I have been waiting for, all this time.
Ha! Thought I was going to let you off the hook, beloveds, and give up the secret of who I have been searching for. Of, what I have been waiting for. Haven’t you guessed by now? If not, you shall find out. When it is YOUR turn to see, know and understand. God and Life will not reveal these things, to you. Until, you are ready. How do you KNOW when you are ready?
Ah.
Aha!
You have asked the question. Buckle up. Your life is fixing to get pretty interesting, from here.
In the meantime, let us continue on this, on my particular journey.
Getting back to the old movies….lol.
As I have been watching these old friends, I have been re-imaging my life. Re-imaging through the eyes of:
God.
Life.
Jesus.
Me!
Re-configuring, re-wiring, re-investing, re-living, re-loving through eyes full of love, peace, hope, joy and all of the life-affirming feelings, emotions, experiences and the like.
Ah.
Aha!
*Cassandra hugs herself, so full of love she could barely contain it. Love seeped out from everywhere. IT CAME FROM EVERYWHERE!*
I have plenty left over for you, beloveds. Such as I have, I offer you. It really is fantastic. As am I. So are you.
You are loved.
You are NOT alone.
Be encouraged.
His and yours,
Sweetpea aka Cassandra

Note: The bible tells us not to despise small beginnings. It is NOT how you start. It’s how you FINISHED. God ain’t done with us. Not yet. In the meantime, if your sandwiches have grown cold, re-imagine them. Re-imagine YOU. Add, some cheese. No need of lamenting the former sandwich. Best be about enjoying the sandwiches you currently have…*shrug*.
