Storms: He WILL take the steam out.

There are times, beloveds, when it’s all you can do to do all you can do. The heat, is high. The pressure, relentless. You find yourself backed into a corner despite having done all you know to do all you know.

Beloveds, God KNEW you were going to be in that corner. Why do you think you found sustaining snacks there!?

Tuesday, I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo discouraged. Felt like a collosal failure. The heat, had won. I had to leave work early and take off Wednesday. Felt like I had let God down. Here I was, Ms. Encourager, unable to scrape my heart off the canvas. I was done.

Cooked.

Flambayed.

Basted.

Toasted.

Roasted.

Sad, I cried, just a bit, while talking to my wombie. Said, sis I just can’t bear this heat. It’s unbearable. See, I had not spoken those words allowed. I kept myself encouraged and kept going.

Until, the heat actually did seem unbearable. It was. Glasses steamy, I cried and told God this was unsustainable. I could not afford to go to a hotel. I could not afford to take off work. I felt:

Trapped.

Left.

Bereft.

Alone.

Old.

Alone.

Alone.

Alone!

I kept reaching out: To my big bro, to my big sis, to my wombie, to God, to Life(chewed Life out for being a big meanie with all this blasted heat). Mostly, beloveds, I talked to ME, to my heart. I told myself it really WAS okay to not be okay until I was okay. I asked my wombie to read me some Psalms. She did. Life-savers, they were. Life-saver, wombie was. If you are interested she read me Psalm 41, 34 and 23. Awesome!

As I was talking to my big sis, I realized God/Life had been preparing me for this heat for months. A bit ago, it was on me to get out my ice trays and start making ice. I had not used ice in forever. It was also on me to purchase some variety pack grits. I had not eaten grits for years. I had also been meal prepping, for quite some time.

The ice has been a life-saver during the high heat. The prepared meals have been wonderful as it has been too hot to want to cook let alone eat. The grits are a super quick breakfast that has sustained me through work as most days I didn’t eat breakfast.

You may ask, if God/Life KNEW, ahead of time, why did they not warn me or take me out of the situation so I would not have to experience it. Because, life is life. God does not and will not swoop in, every other five seconds, to rescue us from this, that and the other. What the world kind of life would that be?

And, Life is NO going to live your life for you. Folks are just too blasted lazy, nowadays. Wanting life delivered on a silver platter. Sliced up in nice, tidy, bite-sized pieces whilst marriage material, young hunkaburning lovers, fan us and feed us grapes.

Ha!

Folks don’t want to do the hard work of planting seeds, watering, pulling weeds, and harvesting what THEY planted. They would much rather be lazy and allow others to plant and eat THEIR labor. Then, want to complain about the food. Smh….*Cassandra fumes and folk who have gotten so ridiculously entited and lazy God/Life have become mere Waiters*

Anywho, a storm rolled through. Prevented me from getting some much needed sleep. Yet, it removed the blasting humidity. Took the fun out of the hot. Brought the temperature down to a balmy 86 degrees at 6 in the morning. I lay, gasping, er, basking in the heat minus the humidity.

Suspiciously, I listened to the retreating storm and told myself to get ready for the stifling heat/humidity combo that tends to show up, after the storm. Blessedly, only the heat remained. Enough so my cooler fan is now being really sweet and gently blowing calmness, quietness, peace and joy all over my face….aaahhhhh.

God knows how much you can stand. Life knows how much you can stand. The Universe knows how much you can stand. They just need for YOU to know that you CAN stand. What’s more, you can stand a whole lot more heat then you ever thought you could.

Keep going. Keep living your life. Those things you thought were odd requests from God and Life may just be preparation for a new level or challlenge in your life. You won’t know until you listen and DO.

ALL things really do work for good to those who love God. For those, who don’t, you keep moving forward. We shall all find out, eh? In the meantime, keep on living. Don’t let the heat beat you down too much.

Remember:

You are loved.

You are NOT alone.

Keep on being…YOU!

here for you,

Cassandra
