Make the adjustments already, Cassandra!

I needed to move the television. An inch or so to the left. It was driving me cra cra!

I was too lazy. So, I spent forever arguing in my mind. Dummy me.

Finally, I couldn’t take it ONE MORE SECOND! MOVE THE STUPID TELEVISION ALREADY, CASSANDRA!!

Whew! Perfection. Shoulda done that weeks ago. I could have spared myself weeks of annoyance and strained viewing. Smh.

We can get like that right, beloveds?

God/Life/The Universe will prompt us to course correct and we use all manner of excuses not to.

Even small corrections. We like our things the way we like our things. Even things which we KNOW could stand a bit of adjustment here and there.

I am learning to make the adjustments as quickly as I can. It’s not always easy. It has NOT been fun.

I have cried. I have raged. I have pouted. I am adjusting, though.

I stopped ’round to encourage you to keep on making those adjustments. Pout as you need to. But, keep moving those things a bit to the left or right…lol.

I am having to spend this morning organizing things I organized while tired. Smh.

I look at this tired mess and can only shake my head.

At the time, beloveds, I told myself to just “hurry up and get it DONE, Cassandra!”.

And, yea, God did suggest I rest and take care of things when I could think straight. And, of course, I knew better. Dummy me.

I just stopped by to stop someone from doing the foolish thing of working themselves into the ground.

We serve NO purpose when we have overextended.  Everyone loses. We end up having to redo or rebrand or…

You get my point.

Take stock.

Take a breath.

Then, and only then, beloveds, take action. Action, for action’ sake is counterproductive.

Life is short. Get in your rest.

Work smarter, not dumber, er, harder(tired).

Note: I will NEVER forget the morning when God whispered to my heart “You are not your pain”. Never.

Even now, I can go back to that moment: I was on my way to work. I was sitting at the stoplight. Tears had been streaming down my face.

I was worried. We had moved and I now had a 30 minute commute I could not afford the gas for.

I hated, hated, hated driving in the early morning hours. The roads were skinny, hilly, curvy and super nerve wracking.

I hated the scary roads. Yet, I enjoyed blasting my praise music and singing at the tops of my long.

Anywho, I was at that light in tears. I didn’t know what to do. I needed gas money. I needed to complete that scary ride.

I felt like one huge ball of pain.

“You are NOT your pain”.

Too often, beloveds, we allow silence to dominate, leaving despair, destruction and darkness to reign unchecked.

Life is short. How much of our lives are we wasting chasing things that will not matter when all is said and done?

I have been thinking of my mortality. I have no idea how many days/hours I have left.
