Who are you?: The stranger in my bed.

Who are you?

Who ARE you?

Where did you come from?

How long, have you been here?

Deep, from inside me.

How did The Universe KNOW, you were the person I have been seeking, for the whole of my life?!

I have looked for you.

Everywhere.

EVERYWHERE!

I have sought you, in jobs, in relationship(s), in ministry.

Yet, you demured. You remained, mute. Until. Until, I, made the choice, to do the scariest thing, I have ever done: Be honest with ME.

Once, honest, I could find the courage, to reach out to The Universe. Upon reaching, my hand found itself, into your own.

Now, I hold your hand. Rather, you now, hold MINE. Don’t let go!

I don’t want to disappoint you, you, this stranger, in my bed. I want to:

Love, you.

Honor, you.

Cherish, you.

Laugh, with you.

Rejoice, with you.

Try, with you.

Who are you?

asking for a friend,

Me(Cassandra)

#YourLifeMattersToMe

Note: I find myself, a few weeks before my 55th birthday, thinking things I have NEVER thought. Doing things, I have never done. Why/how? I have absolutely NO idea. I don’t know this me, this stranger in my bed…

Dear Universe: I found a stranger in my bed.

Dear Universe,

Every since God challenged me to reach out to You, I have found a stranger, in my bed.

Me.

ME!

I don’t recognize this me, this she, this person I now find myself, to be.

This me, her, well, she takes NO quarter.

This me, I, brooks NO, arguments.

This me, myself, absolutely refuses to allow, disappointment, hard, despair, discouragement, anger, frustration, or any other thing to get in her way.

She is relentless, this woman, who now sleeps, in my bed.

She roams around, as if on air.

She jaunts about, as if in the grandest home.

She, flounces, as if draped in the finest linens.

She has a confidence about her that I am coming to admire.

I am in awe, of her.

Of, me.

ME!

This stranger, no longer hides behind walls. This creature, reaches out and takes hesitancy, with her.

Oh, that I could grow up to be, like her, Universe!

Huh?

She, is me, You say?

Why, she is!

Thank You, Universe, for forcing her, out of hiding. Rather, SHE has forced ME, to stop hiding my heart. You see, Universe, I give the world and all in it, my heart. But, I was afraid to give, my heart. I was afraid it would be dismissed or unloved.

Now, I just love. Yes, I would love to have that love, returned. If not, I’m okay. Lonely a bit, for human contact, but so joyously humbled by the love, in my heart. And, from the love of God, Life and You, The Universe.

What do I do with her now, Universe? What will You do, with her? With, me?

I have NO idea, Universe, what to do with the gifts I have been given. How can I give more of me, away? How can I care, more? How, can I love, more? Am I even making a dent, in…*shrug*…?

I know not.

I just know, there is a stranger, in my bed.

The stranger, is me.

pondering,

Cassandra

Note: I find myself at an interesting place. Beats me, where I am. I think I shall take the time to…*shrug*…Be encouraged.

Heart Check: Don’t let your pain be a pain.

Whew.

Whew!!

What a week!

Whew!!!

Painn surely can be a real pain, can’t it? Makes one want to lose one’s mind.

Thankfully, pain passes. IF, you allow it to. Most folk like to try and drown their pain. Or, at least try to get pain to quiet down, already! I must admit, I tried to drown mine, just a smidge, underneath a million packets of fruit snacks…lol.

Didn’t work.

I moved on to a mini tantrum.

Didn’t work.

I pouted, just a wee bit.

Didn’t work.

I play Mike Tyson’s Punchout.

Didn’t work.

I played Super Mario on Nintendo.

Didn’t work.

I went to work and pretended all was well.

Didn’t work.

I tried the dumbness of faking it til I made it.

Didn’t work.

I sat with my heart, asked her what she needed, listened, fed her scrambled eggs, listened to uplifting music, told God/Life/The Universe all about it.

Ah.

Aha!

Today, I am grateful. For, the sad, which helped me to process mom’s passing. For, the mad, which helped me release a whole lotta frustrations on some dishes and laundry. For, the discouragement, which helped me reach out to others, to encourage them to keep going. Mostly, for my try, who just will NOT, allow me to give up, on me.

Just checking on you, beloveds. Be sure and be good to you. No matter what you are going through, be good to yourself. Don’t be a pain, because you are in pain…lol.

Take care of you. Rest. The week has past. The weekend, is here. Enjoy your day. Embrace what happens, within it and within you. You don’t have to be perfection, to be loved. You are. You are not alone.

Be encouraged.

Note: How can you NOT be inspired? Get on out there and enjoy your life. Asking for A Friend…

There is no such thing as quit in you!

Ah, I see you, beloveds!

Yea, boy, I see your fight!

Yyyyasssssssssss, I see you being about being about it!

I tip my cap, too you, beloveds!

I see your love.

I see your try.

I see your awesome/amazing heart.

I see YOU.

As does God/Life/The Universe.

Keep going.

Keep trying.

Keep LIVING.

Keep loving.

Keep rejoicing.

Let the cynics, let the world, let the rest, rest on their laurel. We got thangs to do, don’t we?

Love someone. Start, with you. Let someone know they are loved and NOT alone.

Cassandra

#YourLifeMattersToMe

Note: Okay, you should already be gone being about being about it. Smh. Get going. Take this with you:

You are loved.

You are NOT alone.

Keep on being…YOU!

I love me some you…

Don’t you dare give up on you!

Beloveds, don’t you dare, ever, no never, give up, on you! YOU are much too important. You have too many things, to say. You have too many things, to do. Your life is so very precious. I wish I had known you, sooner. I would have told you, then. I’m telling you now. Hold on. Hold fast. Hold out. This is not a pep talk. It’s a life talk. Get on out there, beloveds, and LIVE.

Stop surviving life. It’s high time life had to survive you and your try. Don’t listen, to those who have given up. Pray for them. Then, move forward. I don’t care what happens, in your life. The happenings, happen. True that. Yet, those self same happenings, happen to change your life.

Why/how?

Because they happen, they force you, to choose to fight or quit. Ain’t no quit in you, beloveds. Nah! You too awesome, for that. Your dreams are too important, for that. Your impact is too impactful, for that.

Believe in you. You got this. Don’t worry about outcomes. Just give it the best you have be okay with what happens next. The next is a God/Life/Universe problem.

What’s next?

You tell me!

Rooting for you,

Cassandra

#YourLifeMattersToMe

Note: The ONLY thing holding you back, is you. Get going. Life be waiting upon thee! Skeedadle, beloveds. Don’t waste another second worrying how. Just do. Something. Go on…

Huh? I forgot something?! Oh, yea, scuze me…ehem….:

You are loved.

You are NOT alone.

Keep on being…YOU!

I told God it’s okay. It’s not.

I find myself in a quandary.

I sooooooooooooooooo want to tell God to kick rocks, today.

I’m angry.

Mom is gone.

Mom is gone, dammit!

I am TIRED of going around this stupid grief mountain!

For the most part, I am okay. Will be sailing along. Okay, until I am not. Then, I will have found grief all snuggled up in my snuggy and waiting for me, cup of coffee, in hand.

Dammit!!…*Cassandra snatches the cup of coffee from grief, and swallow bitter tears*

Fresh hell.

*sigh*.

I’m not angry. Not, really. Just not okay, today. I will be. I don’t let grief stay too long. Grief is much too greedy and will swallow your day, whole, if you allow it. Nah, grief, I got thangs to do.

I told God it’s okay. It’s not. Good thing I know that it is perfectly okay to not be okay until you are okay, again.

I stopped by, beloveds, yet again, to let you know to be as not okay, as you need to be. You don’t have to have it together ALL the time. There are times when the LAST THING you want to do is to be together.

Altogether now:

Ack!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew, okay, we got that scream outta the way. Only about 90 more to go, for me.

I did NOT want to do this day, today. Not, today. I wanted to:

Stay in bed, eating fruit snacks and carrying on about the unfairness of being an orphan at near 55, alone, dreams unfulfilled and have a whale of a time, feeling sorry for me.

Nah, beloveds, I had things to do. So, I got up. Stamped to, the bathroom. Stormed, from the bathroom. Tore, into the kitchen. Angrily, snatched eggs, butter, shredded cheese, from the fridge. Pouting, I madly stirred, said ingredients. Flippantly, I flipped those whipped eggs, into shape.

While doing so, I whipped my angry/sad/mad/frustrated/missing mom self, back into some form of act right. Meaning, I called my wombie, worked her last nerves and hung up, sad/mad/frustrated.

Long story short, I dragged ALL my feels up Joy Mountain. I turned on some uplifting music, ate breakfast, got to work, then got to work telling myself it’s okay to not be okay, for a while.

After a while, I forgot all about being sad. I was too grateful for being able to work from home, the wonderfully uplifting music, for my wombie who listened to my ramblings, and for scrambled eggs!

Longer story made shorter: Life is tough. Grief ain’t no joke. It’s okay. Keep going. NO matter what. Talk with those who love you. Love on you, as best you can. Scramble some eggs. Be encouraged. We got this, eh?

Sad but okay,

Cassandra

#YourLifeMattersToMe

Note: You are loved and not alone….

Dear 55: I have fallen. I don’t want to get up, today.

Dear 55,

You will be here, in a few weeks.

I want to be angry, with you. So what!

Mom won’t be here.

Dammit.

I found I am fighting anger, today. Anger, at mom. For leaving me to have to fight with sad, who wants to visit, who I can NOT allow to stay around. I have things to do. I have a life to pretend, er, live.

Fresh hell.

55, how the hell am I supposed to celebrate you? I feel like I am 5, without mom.

I fought with the night. ALL night. Now, me and day are arguing. I am TIRED DAMMIT!

It’s not your fault, 55. It’s not even mom’s fault. It was her time to go.

It’s just that forever is such a long time. I can barely hold the word, in my heart. Not, today.

I look at my shattered laptop. I looked at my heart, now shattered. What do I DO with it? This, my heart? Who will care for it? I am alone. Yet, not.

I must go, 55. I have work, to do. I have to get up, today. I HAVE to. Crap.

going on while wanting to punch something in the face,

Cassandra

#YourLifeMattersToMe

Note: The heck if I know. Keep going. Oh, yea:

You are loved.

You are NOT alone.

Keep on being…YOU!

Note 2: It’s okay, to hurt. Let someone know when you are not okay, okay? Asking for Your Friend…

So amazing!

I am listening to ‘So Amazing’ by Clark Anderson. Beautiful song. It’s on the soundtrack from the movie The Hurricane.

When I heard it, for the first time, was in the theater and was in the ending credit. Stopped me. In my tracks. Had to sit and listen 👂 to the end…

Life has been super tough, lately. I have been doing my best to encourage myself. Have felt alone. Have wished for hugs. Have wished for many things.

Early this morning, God woke me. Just would NOT let me sleep. I wandered into my super early online prayer group and heard exactly what my heart needed!🥰♥️

I wandered, to my balcony, and found a pleasant breeze! Ah! A wonderful relief after months of 100 plus temperatures. I made some Instagram videos to post, later.

I wandered, back inside, and began tapping encouragement to folk I shall never meet. I wonder if MY words even matter. To them. No matter.

All I have to give, is yours. I so hope you receive this care. I wrapped it special, for your eyes and hearts. I pray they are enough.

Be encouraged. If I could take away all that wounds you, I would. I shall ask The One who can! Be well.

Cassandra

Note: I find myself restless. Too many hurting hearts. Too few folk who fight for and love them.😥
