The Universe is calling: Open your faith.

Wtw?!

God and Life has told me to do some awfully strange things at THE most awful times, in my life.

As I have done them, I found that I found more of me, beneath mountains of grief, pain, anger, fear, doubt, anxiety and more things than one Christian heart, was supposedly not supposed to feel.

I am still sitting on ‘I am not strong’. Four words that are seemingly the antithesis of I have been taught to be, as a woman. As, a black woman. As, a black Christian woman.

It has been sooooooooo freeing, to keep my mental sink, clean and empty of everything keeping it from being, each day.

I do my level best, now, to keep as many areas, as free of debris and dirty dishes, as I can…lol

“Write to The Universe.”

I must admit, beloveds, I wanted to tell God and Life that They were cra cra to ask me to do something so outrageously outrageous. Made me want to do so, on Their Dare.

I dare, The Universe.

The Universe came and called my bluff.

Yikes!

Egads!

I am terrifyingly excited at the unknowns that now greet me, each day. I laugh, with them. I love, them. I love my stumbles, through them.

Every step, challenged.

Every step, rejoiced.

One step.

I walk.

With, The Universe.

Where?

Who cares?

When shall we arrive?

Who knows?

So what?

My faith, now open, wide, has my mouth and my mind, opened wide.

The Universe is calling: Open your mouth.

I love the saying ‘When the student is ready, the teacher appears’. Not sure who said this. I have always believed it.

The more I have opened my heart, opened my mind, and opened my mouth, to myself, to God, to Life, to my fam, to The Universe, The Universe has, literally, opened it’s bounty, to me.

Secret dreams, long quiet, are flinging themselves, loudly, fiercely, to heaven, to the universe, in song, in thanksgivings, in welcome.

I have welcomed, me, and it feels awesome, amazing, affirming…*hugs self*

For quite the while, God and Life, have been challenging me to ask bigger, love harder, reach farther.

I have strained, I have despaired, I have cried as I have kept climbing this mountain of disbelief in my TRY.

I try.

I fail. Or, it looks or feels like I have failed.

I try.

Nothing moves.

Nothing changes. Or, it looks and feels like nothing has moved or changed.

Yet, astonishingly, I will have found that I, me, Cassandra, Sweetpea, Jaybird, ALL of me, is renewed EVERY time that I try, IN FAITH, believing my TRY, truly is, always has and always will be, enough.

What’s more, I find that I really AM enough!

Amazing.

It amazes me, still, that I am loved, by God. By, Life. By, my fam. By, a few friends. By, Jesus. By, my coworkers. Mostly, beloveds, by me. By…I could go on and on to infinity and back.

That said, I want to look at all, in amazement and say:

Look at me?! Yall actually love THIS me?!

I am loud.

I am old.

I am black.

I am a woman.

I am an ugly ostrich.

I am a beautiful peacock.

You love THIS me?!

“Yes”.

They all say yes.

My heart, is amazed.

I am amazed.

I am amazing.

I am.

I AM!

Ah.

Aha!

Life is short, beloveds. Time to:

Open, your mouth.

Open, your mind.

Open, your heart.

Open.

The Universe is calling.

It’s time.

It’s YOUR time.

This is not just a rah rah message. Though inspiring, these words are prophetic. You are being called. You are being called out.

I am not strong: One step.

One step.

That’s ALL I take with me, beloveds, when I go for my walks.

I don’t time myself.

I choose a song.

I walk.

I may walk half the song.

I may walk the whole song.

I may walk more than one.

I don’t even worry about the length of the song(s).

I may walk to a fast song.

I may glide to a smooth groove.

I might shimmy and shake my way through new school.

I could rock steady to new school.

I may fight with incline.

Incline may when giving me the option to roll with the parking lot curves.

In any event, I make walking, THE event.

In times past, I would be focused on how many, how much, did I do it, did I not do it, could I make it, why didn’t I make it, and all other kinds of reasons that ended up causing me to not walk at all.

Now, I simply walk.

I rejoice, in the walk.

I relish the try.

Why?

Because this is the day that the Lord has made. I SHALL rejoice and be glad in it.

Keep fighting: You can do this, God said to me.

Okay, I can admit when I have been all up in my feels.

I was.

Was a bit miffed, peeved really, with God, with Life, with me, with you, with the world, with The Universe, with my this, that and EVERYTHING.

I know. Mom’s birthday is coming up. My world a bit shaken, but not stirred.

I am doing my best to:

Acknowledge, my feels.

Respect, my feels.

Give my heart permission, to FEEL.

Too many, equate a positive attitude with acting like everything is okay when things are clearly NOT okay.

I have learned, through being lovingly supported by God and Life, to let the hurt, well, hurt.

See, as a sista, a black women, we are ALWAYS expected to be:

Strong.

On.

Able.

Capable.

Not only are we expected to be all these things, plus fifty others. We are also expected to tote ALL the world’s problems and be there for everyone in the wide world.

Whilst doing this, we are expected to pray folk through their mess and leave our messes to…*shrug *. Don’t ask me. We are not allowed to have, much less take care of OUR heart and needs.

Anywho, God and I have been in a silent argument, this past little while. The conversation, if it could be heard, goes like this:

God: You can do this, Cassandra.

Me: God, I can NOT!

God: Why not?

Me: You won’t show me how. You won’t tell me how!!…*stamps foot*.

God: You CAN. You WILL.

Me: Stop saying that! How do you KNOW?!

God: I believe in you. Try, beloved. Just, try. I shall take care of the rest.

This is normally where I will pout, just a tasteful teeny bit and then…try.

Hhm.

Ah.

Aha!

At this point, God and Life, will give me a wink and let me know I CAN and WILL if I but keep TRYing.

I find myself, fighting, still.

I find myself TRYing, still.

I feel, faith muscles growing, ever stronger.

I feel, my lungs fill with unexplainable peace, joy, hope and love.

I feel, my heart…

I FEEL!!!

A new, feeling. A needed, feeling. The space and freedom to FEEL.

So many are walking around, bleeding inside, trying their level best not to feel. They have themselves surrounded by white noise.

Desperate, to quiet the cry of their heart. I am sooooooo thankful that God and Life loves us enough to pursue us, relentlessly, in order to get us to STOP in order to get some healing.

Keep fighting.

Keep arguing, er, talking to God and Life. Things WILL work out as they need to.

Be encouraged.

Joy really does come, in the morning. If your night holds weeping, joy shall come for you. It will.

Til then, know, of a surety, of a certainty, that you are loved and not alone.

Ah, beloveds, be encouraged.

Let someone know how you are doing. Your tears are much too precious to cry alone.

Whew!

My get up and go stayed at the crib, leaving me to walk this rickety, creaking bod, this morning.

I walked to two songs. Huffing, puffing, pleading, wondering why on God’s green earth I EVER decided to get my walking act right acting right.

Two songs. That’s it, I told myself. Eye of the Tiger, had the NERVE to come on, at that moment.

How the world, could I flame out and give out to the sounds of ‘Eye Of The Tiger?!’

I couldn’t.

I walked to THREE songs.😳😁🙌💃❤🥰🎶🎷🎹🎸🎤🤦‍♀️😎😂😉🐐

Keep going, beloveds. Be sure to toss out ALL the trash that has been holding you back and keeping you down.

A miracle, happened, for me.

A miracle, happened, in me.

A miracle, was given, to me.

For the last 30 plus years, I have worked my fingers, to the bone. I have strived, to be, to do, to give, to this, to that. In hopes, I told myself, that I could build enough equity. In order to, build enough equity, to be counted worthy ‘enough’ to share these words:

You are loved.

You are not alone.

I believed, wrongly, my words, alone, were not enough, to reach enough, souls.

I believed, foolishly, my words, alone, were not enough, not really, to touch enough, hearts.

I believed, sadly, my words, alone, were not enough. Meaning, I was not enough.

I believed, wholeheartedly, my words, needed/required, a platform, before I could be:

Seen.

Heard.

Valued.

Cherished.

Not just for me. But, for others. That they might know they are seen, heard, valued and cherished.

Your ♥ heart, beloveds, is the only platform you shall ever need. Share it. Often. Liberally. Joyfully.
