It’s okay to question. It’s okay to ask questions.

I was raised to NEVER question:

God.

Authority.

The status quo.

Leadership.

ALL older people.

Unquestioning. Loyally. Unequivocally. Just because.

I’m not sure what dastardly devastation would befall but was loudly and soundly advised that SOMETHING horrible, awful, terrible could maybe, could well be, maybe, might happen if I didn’t obey to the letter.

Thankfully, God, Life, The Universe, situations, circumstances, this, that and ALL the other things taught me it was needed, necessary and perfectly okay to question, to ask questions and be open to a new answer, a disconcerting answer, or no answer whatsoever.

I find myself asking all kind of questions lately. No plan on asking questions until I leave here. Finding out the answers has been fun.

Keep asking questions. keep being willing to change your mind. Keep being willing to be wrong. There’s nothing wrong with admitting mistakes and doing your best to correct them. It’s called adulting….lol.

Take care and have an amazing day today.

Laugh during the storm.😳🤣

Holy moley!!!

Jimeny Cracker Jack’s and corn flakes!!…*this is Cassandra’s way of swearing*

The storm won’t stop pounding. I have told fear to shut up and am currently singing loudly/badly to “You Have Made Me Glad”. Am sure the neighbors appreciate the thunder over my singing. 😁🤗🤣

I just stopped by, again, to sit with someone, who is also going through some storms. Peace, be still, beloveds. This too shall pass. Geez, tho, God. Whew.

I refuse to be sad today.

I refuse to be sad today.

I refuse to be mad today.

I refuse to be bad today.

I choose to be glad today.

I choose all the joy that can be had today.

I choose to laugh today.

Today is the first anniversary of the tornado. Ha! Not!

Today is the day the Lord has made, as the bible says. I SHALL rejoice and be glad in it.

I beat the dawn this morning. I made coffee. I worked on my dreams for a few hours. I sang, badly, to early morning praise music.

I thanked God for my life. I thanked The Universe for being big enough to contain my dreams. I thanked Life for teaching me how to fight.

Then, I got on with my day. I have life to live. No time for standing over a grave. Last year happened. Am leaving last year in 2024, where it belongs. 2025 is a handful all on it’s own.😳🤣

I have much too much to do, beloveds. So do you.

The storm is raging. I am working in the midst of it. In fact, I recorded the voice over for the first piece I am going to put on YouTube next week. Badly. Clumsily it’s going up. I also created some cheesy intros and endings. I am going to see how many eyeballs I can cause to roll out of folks heads.🤣

Hang in there. The storm WILL pass.

Don’t let it be okay to quit.

I quit!

I QUIT!!

I QUIUUUTTT!!!!

Yikes, beloveds, I had already quit three times, before the sun rose. Geez, Cassandra.😳🐥

I was in the middle of trying to figure out WHY IN TARNATION I COULDN’T DOWNLOAD MY FILES THIS MORNING!!! OMG!!!!!!!

I quit. I stormed to the kitchen. I made coffee. I drank said coffee. Annoyed at having quit, I pouted my way back to the computer.

I tried again. Again, nothing! I quit. I stormed to the kitchen. I made coffee. I drank said coffee. Annoyed at having quit, I pouted my way back to the computer.

I tried again. Again, nothing! I quit. I stormed to the kitchen. I made coffee. I drank said coffee. Annoyed at having quit, I pouted my way back to the computer.

Apparently, the third time being the charm, I figured out that I was out of space due to having copied files repeatedly and in several different places.

In trying to teach myself how to organize and save files, I had learned badly. Still, I learned. Now,I had to teach myself how to delete all the extra files, organize the ones that are left, and cut myself some slack while doing so.

The me, before the tornado, would have given up two tries ago. I would have blamed everything and everyone but me. I would have taken to my bed and pouted.

Post tornado, I tell myself we WILL sit here ALL day, if we have to, and WILL figure things out.

I sat there for more than 12 hours. I figured things out. I’m glad I took the time to get things. organized and situated. Now I know exactly where every file is. Now I can start projects and complete them in a more proficient and timely manner. I’m proud of my try.

Be proud of your try. Keep trying, and trying, and trying, and trying, and trying as many times as it takes to get things right.

Don’t let it be okay to quit. You have too many things to do.

It takes as long as it takes. Don’t get upset with all the mistakes.

One thing I am learning beloveds is that it takes as long as it takes.

Simple as that.

There will be days when you get it on the first try.  There will be other days when it will take fifty tries. Annoyingly, there will be days when you just don’t get it!! Ack.

It’s a good thing I have figured this out. It only took me 56 years to get here.🥰🤣

Be encouraged. It takes as long as it takes. Don’t get upset with all the mistakes. You are doing your best. Let your best be enough.

I realize: I’m tired of playing the “I’m alright” game.

I realize that I have never given myself permission to be:

Sad.

Mad.

Devastated…

By the devastating tornado from last Memorial’s Day Weekend. I was too busy making sure everyone was not too upset about me possibly being upset.

I realize I never gave myself permission to be:

Sad.

Mad.

Devastated…

That my job advised me to start working when I was too traumatized to breathe, let alone work.

I realize I never gave myself permission to be:

Sad.

Mad.

Devastated…

By ride or die “friends” who rode off not caring if I lived or died.

I realize I never gave myself permission to be:

Sad.

Mad.

Devastated…

By God allowing, by Life presenting, by The Universe orchestrating such a devastating turn of events.

I realize I’m tired of playing the “I’m alright” game.

I decided to do myself a service and be 100 with ME. I texted one or two and let them know I was turning off my phone for Memorial Day Weekend so I can process and move FORWARD.

I realize I am stuck. The tornado passed physically. Still, it has remained in the corner recesses of my mind. I am ready to be free of it.

I am proud of myself. It is super stormy. Instead of being afraid, I have made sure to hydrate, eat and rest. I have spent the day watching folk do incredibly dumb things on YouTube.

I just stopped by to encourage someone and let you know that it is perfectly okay to not be alright after devastation has befallen you.

I have grown lots. I have healed much. Yet, I have a bit of grieving to do. I was so busy looking out for the world, beloveds, I forgot about me. Don’t forget about you.

Back away from the computer, Cassandra! 🖥 😳🤡

Whew.

WHEW!!

OMG!!!!!

*Cassandra thanks her lucky stars she was smart enough to press NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO when the computer smartly asked her was she SURE when she pressed the button to have more than 3,400 seemingly duplicate files 📂 PERMANENTLY deleted!!!!!!!!*

Having diverted disaster, beloveds, I immediately shut down the laptop before I did lasting damage. I have spent twelve and a half hours organizing, organizing, organizing and organizing EVERY video and file on my laptop. Taking this time will save me countless hours on the other end.

I found music files mixed in with video files. I found video files mixed in with pictures. I found voiceover files stashed I don’t know where the hooey those things came from. Smh.

That’s what happens when you do something before you have become proficient said doing of the something!😳

Proficiency takes time, consistent effort, tenacity, and a good deal of humor.

Be good to yourself,  beloveds, as you work to organize, organize, and organize. There is no telling where you will find your files.😁🥰🤣

Note: I am so grateful for the hard. What a wonderful time I have been finding on the other side of fear, doubt and crisis of faith.

I have been wrestling with my faith for some days. I had to be sure it was MY faith, not just something I was raised to believe or told I must believe by this church or that one. I have been fought at EVERY step. Geeeeeez, God! Whew.

I love me some Him. I love me some you, beloveds. Hang in there. Trials strengthen your faith, reveals your lack of faith, shows you that we all have faith in SOMETHING. The trick is finding out what we are believing in/agreeing with/standing on.

Keep standing ten toes down on FAITH. Tell fear to kick rocks! Tell doubts to take two seats. Get up as many times as it takes!!

You can do what you set your mind to do.

I’m learning that I can do what I set my mind to do.

I don’t make excuses. Not anymore. I get up and try. Simple as that. I don’t waste half the day trying to talk myself into doing this or out of trying that. In times past, I wasted so much time  making excuses.

While I was feeling better, I did as much work on the computer as I could, knowing that I may not be able to for several days. I am learning to work around these storms in my vertigo. I have no choice. Life is much too short. I have things to do.

Set your mind to doing something, then just do it. Simple as that. Can we spend too much of our lives complicating things and making things harder than they need to be.

I could have spared my hands, hours of typing, simply by getting up and getting the headset I knew I had. Laziness kept me from doing so. How silly. I’m getting so much work done now.

I have learned to work smarter, not harder. I still work hard, but I don’t work myself to the point of being so tired it takes me days to recover. How silly. 56 refuser to do that anymore.

I hope you’re having a fabulous week. If you’re not, you can always begin again. Take care.

Don’t let it win.

Fear.

Don’t let it win.

Grief.

Don’t let it win.

Anger.

Don’t let it win.

Apathy.

Don’t let it win.

All of those things have blown in with this latest storm, beloveds. Laughing at me. Taunting me. Reminding me a tornado showed up, a year ago tomorrow, and turned my life on it’s head.

I want to be angry. I’m not. I want to be sad. I kind of am. I want to give in to the fright of how in the hell am I going to pay next month’s rent. I can’t afford to do that now.

What will I DO instead?

Wait patiently.

Cry just a wee bit.

Keep moving FORWARD.

Keep looking UP.

I don’t know what God is going to do, beloveds. I know what I am going to do:

Keep on believing.

Keep on loving.

Keep on laughing.

Keep on hoping.

Keep standing on business.

Keep standing ten toes down.

I just stopped by to encourage those who are, quite frankly, sick and tired of weathering all these physical/spiritual/emotional storms all whilst maintaining our sanity/dignity/joy!…*stamps foot*
