These are some tough days. For women. For people of color. In America at least. Just today the Air Force has been forced to remove its teaching about the Tuskegee Airmen and women pilots. This will be in compliance with the new mandate to get rid of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Yet, I’m still here. Here I will remain. I will continue to love as many people as I can. especially those who do not look like me.
I have been doing my best to encourage people to keep on moving. I am doing all of my power to shine my light. It breaks my heart. how people treat those that don’t look or believe like them.
We don’t have to agree about everything. We do have to agree that we are going to come together. We do have to agree that we are going to treat one another with civility. We do have to agree to leave something for others to have.
I do the best that I can to leave politics out of my blog. The 2024 election has made that about impossible. I am a black woman. Executive orders have been written to take away many of my freedoms. Laws are being written to try and erase black history and culture.
To that I say this: I love my country and the people within it. even those who hate everything about me simply because I’m a black woman. I find that terribly disheartening, discouraging and sad.
Still, I’m going to keep my promise to love them. I will continue to pray for them every day. All that I ask. is for you to continue to say prayers for those who have. such mouths in their heart that they would turn their back on another. They are obviously hurting. I hurt for them. I hurt for us all.
I don’t know what the next 4 years are going to bring for me. It will be more difficult to get a job. That’s okay. I’ve been there. I’ve done that. I am doing it even now.
I refuse to be ended. I refuse to be quiet. I will continue shouting into the void. I love you. My sister, my brother. I don’t care what country you come from. I don’t care what culture you live by. I care for you. Simply because you were born.
It is imperative that we all speak up. Especially in these dark days.
It is not the end. We are in the beginning of a whole new world. This life is what we make it. I plan on making my end of the world as a wonderful, as hopeful as joyful, as ridiculous as I can.
Be encouraged. Hate can be awfully loud. Nothing is louder than love. Nothing!
Don’t allow social media to convince you that everyone hates everyone else. Don’t fall for the foolishness that your country is the only country that matters. Don’t waste time on the lie that other countries don’t care about you and your country. They do.
Get to know someone else’s culture. Read about them. Watch a channel about them. Share their story. Share your story.
Today was supposed to be a day of rest for me. I can’t rest. There are too many people that are hurting. I pray for them. I pray for you. Be encouraged. Don’t give up on your fellow man/woman. If folk truly knew better, they would do better. I am praying/hoping folk start getting some act right.
In the meantime, I hold up MY light. At least there is one light shining. Perhaps other lights shall see mine and blaze away. Ah, God. I hope…

Note: Every time I try to stop writing, I see something else discouraging has happened in the world. I cannot rest. I shall not rest. I will continue to uplift this world in prayer. I will continue to encourage folk to hang in there. Be encouraged. We are not each other’s enemies. We are one global family. I never forget this. I remind me myself of this daily.
This is only the beginning. Your life is what you make it. Make it an awesome one in 2025. There are times, in history, where The Universe asks us all to stand up and be counted. Count me in.
One step.
One step.
One step.
You are loved.
You are NOT alone.
Keep on being…YOU!
