Take your eyes off the storm.

I can see now. I am no longer focused on the storms. I’m focused on the future.

I can breathe now. I am no longer afraid of what may or may not happen. Life will happen. I will respond to that with peace, Lovejoy, hope and laughter.

I am finally able to receive love myself and I’m ready to live my dreams out loud. Here. Now. Exactly where I’m at. Exactly at this age, exactly at this stage of my life.

It feels good. It has taken a long time to get here.

Now I wish I had a vacation so I can get to work on these dreams……hahahahahahahaha!

Stop catastrophizing, Cassandra.

This is what I remind myself now. Life is NOT one big catastrophe. Life is NOT waiting in the shadows, beloveds, ready to jump out and snatch our hopes and dreams.

Life just does life. Periodt.

Now, we are the ones who kick and scream about every old thing.

I’m learning to take each day as it comes.

It sure is nice living a life free from catastrophe. I can breathe now. I can relax now.

Life is truly what we make it to be. We can change our minds at a moment’s notice. We can change things at a moment’s notice. We can decide to go left or to go right. We can choose to do wrong or to do right. We can choose to love or to hate. We can choose to have honor and live a life that has no integrity within it.

I choose life. I choose love. I choose to be hopeful. I choose to see the glass as half. I choose to try. I choose to relax today.

Speaking of relaxing, I hear a cup of coffee calling. Who’s up for a cup?

Freedom is NOT freedom. Freedom comes at a cost.

Folks are all up in these YouTube, TikTok, Instragram and other social media streets hollering about wanting to be “Free”.

I was just watching someone arguing with a YouTube creator who was doing his level best to exhort this young man NOT to quit his $70 dollar an hour job. This young man said he was “tired of people telling him what to do”.

Real talk, beloveds, we will ALWAYS answer to someone, somewhere, in some way, shape and form.

Folk think they can quit their jobs, then be an ‘entrepreneur’ without having done any research, set aside any funds, or even counted the cost to see how much it truly costs, financially, to ‘live a dream. Smh.

As we speak, I am working on my business proposal. This has been some looooooooooooooong slow hours. This includes adding tons of research, forecasts, breakdowns, and a million other things to do. Just the building blocks is taking forever. Let alone the DOING of the thing.

In the end, you could see this young man was fixing to dive off his cliff with NO safety net. This is the completely wrong time to take such a financial leap to be “free to do whatever I want?”

As my mom used to say “Those missed meal cramps will get you moving”. Meaning, your empty stomach will cause you to get up and work to put food on the table! OMG, people. Get some act right already! Whew.

Okay, mini rant over. I must say, though, I have been truly dismayed with this theme folk have about quitting jobs to travel, party and….*shrug*. They have no plan after that. Apparently, the rest of us working folks are supposed to take care of them, once they return home. Only, they won’t have a home because the up AND QUIT A SEVENTY DOLLAR AN HOUR JOB BECAUSE HE WAS TIRED OF PEOPLE TELLING HIM WHAT TO DO?!!!!!!

Smh. He was only 31. My hope is that he will have tripped, fallen, and knocked some sense into himself. Sure hope this young man hold onto this job. He makes three and a half times the job I am fixing to start! Geeeeeeeeeeez, young man!!!

Life is not easy. Life requires something of us. Freedom is not free. Freedom demands an accounting. Freedom demands much. What are you willing to give and to do for your freedom?

A while later, I realized I was still hungry.

Ehem, it dawned on me the food was still in the microwave!

Unfortunately, the aforementioned was based on a true story.

Turn your no into someone else’s yes.

My start date has been pushed back another month…*sigh*.

I turned my disappointment into action. I updated my calendar to work on my dreams. I started my “Standing on BUSINESS with Cassandra” channel to encourage folk looking for jobs/starting over. I have bigger plans as creating a virtual system to encourage, exhort and teach folk HOW to stand on FAITH and other fabulous topics. Will have journals, workbooks, word finds, crossword puzzles etc.

I have also been working on my dream to present for corporations etc. Am building PowerPoints and such and all kinds of uplifting things. I want to make an impact.

I am going to do as Kevin Costner did in “Field of Dreams”. If I build it, they may come. Or, not. I want to try. I want to see.

Who knows? Yall may be watching the birth of something that you can say you were down for the ride when she was just a wee lad with nothing…lol.

Be encouraged. Keep pursuing your dreams. If you get a no, see if you can turn it into someone else’s yes. Be a light. Make a way. BE the way.

I’m no longer:
