Note: It’s Friday. Time for my Friday heart check. How are you doing beloveds? If your week went anything like mine, you’re happy the weekend has come.

We have done our week. Now, it’s time to rest and get ready for the next steps ahead. It’s it’s time to lay down and day dream. It’s time to ask The Universe to make our dreams come true next week. You won’t know unless you ask.

Ask for the things that you need and want in life. We only have this one go around. Make it a good one. Don’t waste your days party and because you only have one life to live.

Be sober. Be mindful. Embrace these days. You don’t know how many you will have. I’m doing the best I can to embrace mine.

Speaking of embrace, remember that you are loved and that you are not alone. I love someone starting with you.

Good habits are hard to break.

Good habits are hard to break.

I told myself I was gonna take a few days off from writing. Work has been challenging and I have been super tired.

I found that I had saved up enough time to take a day off with pay.

I have been so focused on hanging in there. And trying to make is meet that I had not realized I had saved up enough time where I could take a day off with pay.

I had used up all my time due to fighting with grief and not feeling the greatest.

I told myself. I would not allow grief to stop me from living my life the best way that I know how.

I kept getting up even when I didn’t want to. I kept doing the dishes even when I didn’t want to. I kept writing even when I didn’t want to. I kept trying even when I didn’t want to.

One morning, I woke to find the day was not quite as  hard as yesterday. I found myself laughing in the day. I found myself reaching out to others in the day. I found myself rejoicing in the day.

Good habits really are hard to break. Good habits will keep going even when you can’t. Good habits will get you out of bed. Good happens will keep you working. Good habits will keep you trying.

Hang in there, beloveds. Don’t worry yourself if you’re having a hard time starting some good habits. Just keep trying. Every day.

Over time, good habits will take over for you. Good habits will slap things out of your hands. Good habits will put on your walking shoes. Good habits will take you for a walk.

Keep going. You got this.

Note: Be encouraged. Am telling you this as I am telling me. Had some hard things happen today. Things I could do absolutely nothing about. Things that directly impact my job.

I refused to allow what I see to affect what I KNOW:

I am loved. I am not alone. God loves me and cares deeply for my life. God fights for me. The Universe cheers for me. My try IS changing things. It’s changing ME.

Keep going. Tell hard ha and keep it moving…

Embrace the hard.

Laugh at your mistakes. Make as many mistakes as you can.

Cut yourself some slack.

Take time to rest.

Take time to celebrate small victories.

Take time to understand when you hurt over your defeats.

Be sure to take love ones on your journey.

Make new friends.

Reconcile with old enemies.

Remember life is short.

Above all else, beloveds, keep holding yourself accountable.

You can do this thing called life. Everything you need is already inside you.

🗒: I find myself puttering around at almost 2 am. Why?:

I miss mom.

I miss dad.

I miss a me that is not so tired.

I miss me at 30. Where did all the years go!😳

I miss not having to worry about bills.

I miss where I am from. I have been away from home base for more than 20 years now. Wow. Where has all the time gone?

Anywho, the night woke me and reminded me to tell you:

Tell yourself to shut up, then keep it moving. We can? Why? Because we MUST. Nuff said. STOP listening to your foolishness when your act right wants to do nothing more than snack and hide from life.

Remember, it takes but ONE step. Just one. Then another. See!? You got this! As do I. In the meantime, stop being mean to yourself when you fall short. We fall more than we rise. The trick is to keep rising, as does the Phoenix. Look how magnificent your try is growing! Amazing! YOU are amazing. Whether you feel as though you are or not. Our feels lie to us. Be encouraged. Note: It’s important, imperative even, to acknowledge where you are. It is equally important to advise where you will NOT stay. I refuse to give up. I have drug sick and feels to work with me today. They are not happy. So what? Keep it moving.

Entitled to be lazy.

I find it ironic, beloveds.

Here I am getting things lined up so I can learn how to then post motivational videos and all kinds of well known folks are leaving YouTube in droves.

Over and over I keep hearing folk talk about being burnt out from ‘work’. Alas, their ‘dream job’ of creating content is now just a lot of work.

Who knew?

I was raised to work. And, to work hard and long. This last decade or so have heralded the value of making a living by NOT having to work hard, or not at all.

It seems folks just want to frolic on beaches whilst ‘influencing’ others to want to do the same. Everyone is told how idyllic the world can be IF you are:

Young enough.

Pretty enough.

Wealthy enough.

If you know the ‘right’ people.

If you have the ‘right’ job.

If you have the ‘right’ address.

If you are the ‘right’ skin color.

If you are/have the ‘right’ legacy.

The rest of us can, apparently, turn left, keep working hard and stay kicked to the curb.

Yikes.

Be encouraged, beloveds.

It’s up to YOU to accept whatever label folk will try and slap on you.

I don’t believe all young folk are lazy and entitled.

I don’t believe all older folk are hard working and level-headed.

I think we are all a combination of these things.

We are ALL lazy, at times.

We are ALL entitled feeling, at times.

we are ALL hard working, at times.

We are ALL level-headed, at times.

And, at ALL times, we are…human.

We are entitled to be lazy, beloveds. Yet, we must bear the cost of being lazy. Life is short. I choose to keep my act right acting right.

I choose to try even when I am tired and weary.

I choose to believe everything will be okay.

I choose to love.

I choose to laugh.

I choose to make the best of things.

I choose to encourage as many folks as I can wrap my arms and my heart around.

Be encouraged.

Keep on choosing you.

Keep on trying.
