Real talk: Stop letting the hard make your life hard.

Hard times are NOT here to make life hard.

Hard times are here to:

Force us to choose faith or fear.

Question how important our why is.

Snatch us from our comfort zone.

Remind us life is NOT playing around.

Jolt us out of apathy and complacency.

Cajole us to keep on keeping on.

Make us make a decision already!

Build our integrity.

Build on our tenacity.

Help us to laugh at our never ending mistakes and mishaps.

Too often, we can focus on the hard and forget to live. This was me lately. I am snatching myself back to my normal routine.

Speaking of such, breakfast is calling! Fried ham, scrambled eggs, crunchy tater rounds. Anyone care to join me?

Well, phooey!

*Cassandra peers at the bag of Doritoes wondering how the wide world did they end up in her arms. Again!?*

Life has been doing all kinds of lifery things.

And, like the chump I have been for the past few weeks, I have succumbed to a LOT of foolishness.

I have allowed fear to beat me all upside the head.

God, Life and The Universe all sat there looking at me with pitying stares. They just shrugged when I beseeched Them to DO something!

They would NOT:

Take away my fear.

Do what I could/needed to do for myself.

They did encourage me to keep on keeping on. No matter how I felt. No matter how far my dreams seemed to run and hide from me.

Eventually, beloveds, I got tired of being hollered at by fear. Made me mad, me being a dumbsky and believing fear’s lies.

I told fear to kick rocks, take two seats, and to STAY on the curb! Ha!

I don’t know why life seems soooooooooooooooooooo precarious on this side of 55.

Yet, I am enjoying every terrifying, frustrating, maddening, joyful step/moment.

Life is short, beloveds. We only get this one shot.

Keep going. Even when you are afraid. Especially, when you are afraid.

These times are here to help us to grow. To help us to grow up. We have all acted ten kinds of fools long enough. We have all acted like big kids having tantrums for far too long, eh, beloveds?

I have to get up and find the energy to take out now TWO bags of trash. Get it together, Cassandra!

Keep being good to yourself.

Keep keeping the promises you have made to yourself.

Keep hanging on with all your might to your dreams. They are priceless. If they were not, the enemy and the world would not be fighting so hard to keep your dreams from coming true. You keep doing what you know. The rest will come out in the wash. It will.

Be encouraged. I have to tell myself this EVERY day, here lately. And, I mean EVERY day.

My lonely has not been so lonely. My sad has not been too terribly sad. I have been much too busy enjoying my moments.

Note: This past Monday, the entirety of the world, it felt like, gathered, all over the world, to watch the solar eclipse together.

Together!

As one.

Tears flowed.

Freely.

For four minutes plus, there was an end to:

Division.

Strife.

Bitterness.

Anger.

Hatred.

For four minutes plus, each loved the other.

Then, the sun came out.

Then, The Son wept.

Then, The Father cried.

Then, The Universe lamented.

Then, Life travailed.

Because the world turned onto itself.

Again.

And again.

Oh, that the world, that man, would choose to SEE, LOVE, EMBRACE, SHOW, SUPPORT, ACKNOWLEDGE, ACCEPT, CHAMPION, UPLIFT, one another!

What a total eclipse, of the heart, that could/would/ought be!

Ah, beloveds, I hope!

Then, I got some act right and thanked God for grace so I can keep it moving. This is the day the Lord has made. I SHALL rejoice and be glad in it(Psalms 118:24).

Be glad in your day, beloveds. Don’t drag worry and concern all through your day. You have no idea what life has in store.

Comfort: When your try doesn’t seem to be enough.

I started this piece, aeons ago. Life, however, got in the way. I went back to it and find it timely for today. Who knew. Maybe, it will bring you a bit of comfort. It did me:

Whew.

Whew!

That’s what I thought, beloveds.

I am in training, AGAIN, learning something terribly difficult.

The first time this happened, a bit more than a year ago, I got off work and cried, like a baby.

I felt like:

A, Fool.

A, Failure.

FLIPPING OUT!!

You see, I have been used to getting by on my intelligence, my effort, my personality. But, with the new que/duties, I had not the first clue. My brilliance did NOT translate. I couldn’t do it.

*gasp*

I COULDN’T DO IT!??!

I was NOT used to failing, workwise. I was used to pats on the back and great job. I was used to, proudly, handing my brilliant effort to God, to Life, to The Universe, and getting a ‘how great is that?!.

Now, I had to show them less than stellar, performances. How, embarrassing. How, soul-snatching. My OUTCOME was me, or so I believed, back then.

I grew angry, secretly, at God, at Life, at The Universe. The job I was doing, before, though difficult, I had mastered. I could do it, in my sleep. Truth be told, I had started to get a bit stale. No one could tell. I still did outstanding work. Yet, I was no longer satisfied, with my try. I barely had to try.

God, knew this. Life, knew this. The Universe, knew this. Too bad, no one told me. Ha!

Eventually I:

Learned.

Grew.

Succeeded.

Who knew?

Sometimes, new things are put in our path to grow us up.

New hard things forces us to get out of our comfort zones. Ack! We all love/need to be comfy, don’t we?

I am learning how to live in a world full of uncomfortableness. Life is just like that, at times:

Uncomfortable.

Be encouraged, beloveds. Life is so much more than chasing down things to make us comfortable. Real living, oftentimes, is found in the most uncomfortable of places.

Keep going.

Keep growing.

Keep doing you.

Even when you find comfort nowhere.

Even when you are feeling theeeeeeeeeeeee most uncomfortable. Especially then.

Life is short. Enjoy the one you have.

Keep trying.

Even when your try is taking you every where but where you have been trying to get to!

Everything in you wants to run.

It’s not yet time, to run.

That’s okay.

Your heart is being strengthened.

Your spirit is being renewed.

Your soul is being fed.

It shall take ALL of you, to run.
