My life has changed.
Completely.
Totally.
I am free.
FREE!
Free from the prison I had locked my heart away in because of seeing my heart, through the eyes of the world.
The world needs for us to see ourselves as lesser than. In this manner, we can be manipulated. Worse, we then manipulate our lives to fit into the perception, of the world.
When God asked me to do the ridiculous and write a letter to The Universe, I began to SEE a world outside of my circumstances and the world.
I began to question everything:
WHY did I REALLY believe/think this, that and the other thing? It turns out, I really never believed this or that and went along with how I was raised. Or, that’s just how it was. Or, I couldn’t do this because I was black. Or I couldn’t be that because I was a woman.
I was taught/raised to never question or fight authority. Especially, the authority of men.
Now, don’t get me wrong, beloveds. I honor and respect PROPER authority. I love working for and with a team.
Leadership IS important/needed/necessary. Moreover, the INTEGRITY of leadership is paramount.
I am speaking of how folk, women in particular, are brought up to keep their heads down and to never look to grow beyond the boundaries of motherhood or service to men and raising their offspring.
Being as I never married, by choice, due to my passion for caring for folk who had been abused in physical, sexual, emotional ways etc, I was further scrutinized and found lacking because I had never married or had children of my own.
Never mind the fact that I had spent decades caring for, and fighting for, those who could not fight, for themselves. I was now labeled:
Failure.
Spinster.
Pitiable.
My 54 years considered, apparently, wasted because I chose to serve and not chase money or things.
About a year ago, I looked around at all my lack of things and stature and wondered if I had failed both God and myself? I wondered, aloud, if I should have tried to store up more in the way of funds and fun?
To my satisfaction, I found the answer was no! I have enjoyed EVERY second. Yes, I wish those jobs paid a decent salary. They didn’t. I can say, though, I helped many a youth turn their lives around and supported many others on their road to healing.
Beloveds, don’t fall for the world’s foolishness that your efforts were and are not enough. They were. You are!
Look around you and SEE all the good you have done in and for the world. Keep on being you. You make and have made, more of an impact than you will ever know or understand.
Keep looking at life through YOUR eyes. Eyes that have been opened through…
You tell me!
Keep on, asking.
Keep on, believing.
Keep on, loving.
Keep on!
Let the world say whatever it wants. Then, have YOUR say, upon your life and what happens in it.
Yall know what happens now:
You are loved.
You are NOT alone.
Keep on being…YOU
