What have you promised you?

I promised myself, I will try to write every day. For the most part, I have kept that promise. Before, I made every excuse in the world not to write. I was tired. I was busy. I was working. I was taking care of the need of other people. I was this. I was that. I was doing everything but writing.

Now, I write. Something. Every day. For, me. For, whosoever will. What good has it done? I don’t know. I do know, now, that I write. Every day.

I promised myself I would rest. Today, I rest. Today, I take the weight of the world off my shoulders. It never belonged there.

I promised myself I would dream. Today, I dream I am sitting next to the ocean. Writing. With a cup of coffee in my hand. With a song, in my heart. I dream.

What have you promised you? Be sure to keep your promise to you. If you have not make yourself a promise, make one. Then, keep it!
