I can’t remember being disappointed so many times, in so many different ways, in all of my life. Golly gee willikers!
Yet, with each disappointment, I have found, too my surprise, each has caused me to want to give more, be more, try harder, do more to affect change. In, my life. In, the lives of others. For, my community. For, my family. For, those who consider my dark skin, to be an enemy.
Yes, the disappointment(s) hurt. Terribly. Still, each has caused me to be, well, still. Still. Quiet. As, I sit on the disappointment. I sigh. I cry. Then, something, deep inside, whispers to try. Again. Again. Again. Which makes me, laugh. Which makes me, want to try, again. Again. Then, still again.
Ah.
Aha!
This is what LIVING, feels like!
Financially, I have had more setbacks, then I can count. It’s a good thing. I don’t have much to count!….hahahahahahahahaha! I refuse to allow my finances, as currently constructed, to deconstruct my joy.
If I could sum up this past year it will have been filled mostly with one word:
Disappointment!
I can truly say that I am grateful. For, the hard. For, the disappointment.
Why?
Because, each disappointment was an appointment to:
Choose.
Try.
Feel.
Accept.
Receive.
Fight.
Strive.
Hope.
Despair.
Rejoice.
Rinse.
Repeat.
Until.
Until…
I learn, still.
I grow, still.
I learn to grow still, so I can learn to grow…still.
Ah.
Aha!
I welcome disappointment now. As it introduces me, continually, to a wonderful soul. Me!
I thank God, for giving me the greatest gift.
Don’t despair, beloveds, when disappointment shows at every turn. It shows you are out there living and trying.
Be encouraged. Let this coming year be amazing. It’s up to you. Own your choices. Choose. Admit your mistakes. Keep your act right acting right.
If you have lived and given your all, be okay with this. Tell your critics thanks and keep it moving.
moving with you,
Cassandra
