Keep on playing: What the world was that?!😳

*Screams of agony could be heard, the world over, as Cassandra watched incredibly STUPID 🏈 FOOTBALL PLAY!!!*

Me: I sowwy. Ehem. Scuze me…

So, I spent a deliciously frustrating evening watching some normally great 🏈 football teams play some uncharacteristically BAD FOOTBALL! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!!

Whew!

Permit me to get over my annoyance so I can get in with the point anx upliftment of this piece. Smh.

I promised myself, a good while ago, to turn disappointment and Life acting a foolness into blessings, pieces, encouragement for others.

In this way, we all win. I get to keep on keeping on. Albeit badly. You get a good laugh and hopefully a timely message from my aforementioned foolishness.

So, whilst hollering at the 📺 television, I was simultaneously devising uplifting pieces to share about keeping on keeping on when the game isn’t going your way.

Okay, so I was actually just hollering at the television while wondering WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING?!!!!!!!!!

Now, calm, I can think back on these observations:

One team played poorly and won.

One team played well and lost.

Hhhm.

Hhmm?

Hhmm!

Both played.

One won.

One lost.

For all but the last minute of the game, the good playing team looked as though they had the win, in the bag. They didn’t.

For all but the last minute of the game, the bad playing team looked as though they had stupidly lost the game. They hadn’t.

Turns out, neither team could control the elements and the outcome.

They played.

One side lost.

One side won.

Moral of the story?

Try.

Play.

Rinse.

Repeat.

You will win when you thought you have lost. You will lose one you thought you had won. The outcome is not up to you. All that is required is your try.

You will make mistakes. So what? You will look foolish. So what? You may not get a trophy. So what?

Keep on playing anyway.
