I am not strong 💪 and that’s okay.

I am coming up on the one year anniversary of the tornado 🌪. I’m tired of thinking about it. Tired of dealing with the aftermath.

I’m tired, drat it all. I’m tired of blaming myself for not being stronger “sooner”. I’m tired if blaming God for not having acted “sooner”. I’m tired of blaming Life for lifing.

I am NOT strong. Thankfully, I don’t have to be. I just stopped by to encourage someone who is out there kicking themselves for not having done this that or the other.

I am here to encourage those who are kicking themselves for having done this, that or the other!

None of us knows how we will respond when life happens. We do what we can. We MUST, beloveds,  give ourselves permission and room to be:

Wrong.

Afraid.

Doubtful.

Then, we make the decision and be okay with not having been okay in THAT moment. The moment when everyone said you should be over THAT by now.

Things takes time. Healing takes time. Life takes time. In the meantime, it’s okay to not be 💪 stronger quite yet.

I know I have posted a bit today. I have needed these words just to get through these storms today. I remind myself this storm is not last year’s storm. There is NOT a tornado in the yard.

As you go through your hard, remember you are NOT where you used to be! Be encouraged. 0

Note: I promised myself I would encourage someone when I was having a truly disheartening day. Be encouraged. This too shall pass. Geez, tho

One step.

One step.

One step.

You are loved.

You are NOT alone.

Keep on being…YOU!

  1. Gabrielle, you have made my week. This last storm was terrifying. Two tornadoes touched down not far from me. A reminder of the tornado that did 30 million plus damage. I still have not gone outside to see if the hail did any damage to my car.

I just want to encourage everyone to let them know it’s okay to be afraid during storms that befall us. I called my sis and she let me be completely honest. I called her just in case. She said “Everything will be okay”. I told her “Sis, it may not be alright. The outcome may not be positive but God is with me regardless”. It was sobering understanding a tornado does not discriminate and could have ended me. That said, fighting back from last year’s tornado, I have learned there is so much joy, peace, perseverance and love to be found on the other side of hard/fear/doubt. Keep pressing through the hard, beloveds. At the same time, know you do NOT have to be strong every second. The Bible says God shows Himself strong during our weakness. Be encouraged. 🙏🥰

  2. We all have moments when we don’t feel strong and that’s okay. Thank you for this post, it’s just what we need during these times, especially with the recent storms we’ve had last week. Pray you’re doing well, continue to stay encouraged and uplifted. ❤️ 🤗 ✨
