Count your wins, not the losses.

I was feeling a bit discouraged. It seems like a year is almost over already. At first. I counted my year as a loss.

Then I reminded myself that I started my channel. I started a newsletter. I have been encouraging people every single day.

How can those things be counted as a loss?

Right now I am writing, having coffee, listening to some uplifting music and enjoying my apartment.

How can I count those things as losses?

I have been this year working on myself, getting closer to my family and friends.

How can I pronounce those things as losses?

I have been learning, in real time, that I am much more than what I have, what I own or what I do.

How can that be seen as a loss?

I have found my fight. I have learned how to be resilient. I have learned how to not allow feeling to run my life.

How can those things be considered losing?

It’s hard to see an empty bank account and not feel like a failure. I tell myself things will be okay. I say that now. I have to.

Maybe life is trying to teach me how to lose. Maybe this is how I win.

I fight on.

Keep going.

Quitting looks attractive today.

Applied to over 100 jobs. One was legitimate. We’ll see if I get a call back.

I went to my bank account and asked for some help. My bank account thought that was awfully funny.

I had an angry cry. I was going to shut things down for the day and feel sorry for myself.

I didn’t. I got up and made a cup of coffee. I got back to work.

Be encouraged.

I turned on some praise music awfully loud. I refuse to let despair have my day. I’m going to find a way some kind of way.

I just stopped by to encourage someone started with me. Have an amazing rest of your day.

Don’t allow your nerves to unnerve you.

My nerves are all over the place.

Specifically, my nerves have me running to the 🚽 bathroom several times today.

My stomach has given me all kinds of what in the fresh hell is THIS, as I fight with 🧓 old, comfort, lack, 😱 fear and doubt, as I work on my new YouTube channel, Substack Newsletter, while trying to find a new job at 56.

56!

Who wants to hear from an 🧓 old lady?!

Who wants to hire an 🧓 lady???!!!

How in the name of all things do I start over again, again, at 56??!!!

I STILL do not know the difference between uploading, exporting, downloading, extracting, layering, grouping, ungrouping and all the other strange ings and hoops one has to jump through in order to produce a video.

Who knew that YOU actually have to MAKE said video?! 😳

I thought there was somewhere you could go to double-click something and a high quality video or article would magically appear for all to be astounded by.

Cut me some slack, please and thanks. I have only gotten beyond the flip 📱 phone phase five years ago.

Before that, I had to have my niece do what needed done. Forget about teaching it to me! Yikes! Egads! For both our sakes, I learned to hand her the phone, and explain how I needed this thingie to do that thing, and leave her to figure out what the world I needed.

Thankfully, my niece understood how to speak ‘old lady’. I just had to tolerate multiple sighs, eye rolls and exasperated “TTs!” in order to get the job down.

You have NO idea how I mourned when she moved away.

Who will program my phone?!

Who will get my thingies to work?!

More importantly, who will take out the trash?!!!!

Sadly, I had to learn to do things for myself. Thank goodness for Google and YouTube videos. I am married to both, seeking them out when I need to do this, that, and the other thing.

Note: My nerves has been all over the place. I no longer allow them to control my life. I am using them as a sign that something needs to be tended to.

I’m doing my best to grow every single day. Some days I feel like I’ve grown a lot. Some days there seems to be more weeds than plants…lol.

I’m doing what I love. I wanna keep doing that until I leave here. In the mean time, I am praying about what I can do to. Keep the roof over my head. I must admi, I’m a bit tired of doing so. This too shall pass. I hope sooner rather than later…

Facing disappointment head on: What were you REALLY looking/hoping for?

Life is good. Really good.

I just spent an awful night, beloveds, sleeping on disappointment.

Then, I woke up, did my research and discovered some interesting facts.

YouTube uploads 30,000 hours of content. EVERY hour.😳

My unseen ten minutes was among one of those hours.

Essentially, I am a needle in a haystack. This blog, to be fair, is also but a needle in the WordPress haystack.

So, yall are my miracles. The fact you found me, was yall stepping on my needle.🥰❤️‍🩹🤣🤗

I am learning to see disappointment as a friend. This appointment keeps me focused. Disappointment keeps me trying. Disappointment keeps me hungry.

It’s OK to be disappointed. Being honest with ourselves about why we are disappointed is helpful. Use your disappointment for your good.

Ask yourself why were you so disappointed? If you have tried everything you know, why is that not OK? I will be glad when I started getting some wins. In the meantime. I choose to believe my effort is a win.

This year has been filled with so many disappointments I can hardly count them. Still, I have experienced plenty of joy in the midst of them. I have laughed a lot. I have cried quite a bit. I am living in real time. Are you?

Note: Get out there and live. Don’t let disappointment discourage you for too long. It comes with a territory.

I cannot tell you how many times I have cried, in the last few weeks. Enough to water my dreams for months….lol

😎🥰🙏

Be encouraged, beloveds.

Hard just being hard.

Life is just lifing.

It’s not personal.

Hang in there.

Praise your way out.

Laugh your way out.

Rejoice your way out.

It’s up to you.

We got this.

These are precious days. We get this one go around. Don’t allow yourself to see life as nothing more than a succession of bills and hard. Life be lifing. So what?!

Take care.

Your mistakes and good habits are taking you farther than you realize.

Your mistakes and good habits are taking you farther than you realize.

I just stopped by to encourage you and let you know. But you’re not your mistakes. Stop focusing on all the things you are not doing right.

Celebrate your try. All you can do is do all you can do. That’s it. Let that be enough.

You can do so much more than you give yourself credit for. Get out there and live.

I have made so many mistakes, trying to do some quality videos, I have had to stop several times this week. I have not let that stop me.

I think it’s time to make some more mistake-filled videos. I just stopped by to say be encouraged. Make as many mistakes as you can. It’s how we learn.

Take anxious with you.

I have been anxious lately. I don’t know what to do about September bills. I keep telling myself I will leave September and September. I find September is creeping up into my July.

I refuse to live my life afraid. I refuse to stand on fear and worry. I refuse to give in to despair. I have no idea what September will hold. I don’t even know if I will be here in September.

I am doing my best today. I’m loving today. I’m encouraging people today. I’m encouraging myself today. I’m going to do the best I can today and leave the future in the future. I’m going to leave the past in the past. I’m going to keep doing all I know to be the best Cassandra that I can be. That will be enough for me.

Life of what you make it. Make it a good one. Don’t allow the unknown to scare you. The unknown does not have to be scary. Look forward to your future. Enjoy your present. Appreciate the past. All of it helps make you.

It’s okay to be a dummy, God said to me.

Me: I am such a dummy!!

God: Why would you say that?

Me: I keep making DUMB mistakes.

God: What’s wrong with making mistakes.

Me: I feel like a dummy when I make them.

God: Why?

Me: Because they are dumb.

God: HOW else are you going to learn, beloved, unless you go ahead and learn? Mistakes come with the learning? What’s so dumb about that?

Me: Well, when You put it like THAT….

God: Besides, it’s okay to be a dummy. I love you in ALL your dumbness. Your words, not mine, beloved. I don’t see you as a mistake. I don’t judge your mistakes. I look upon your actions FOLLOWING the mistake/misstep. Be encouraged. Keep trying. That’s all I have asked. All I will ever ask. Stop being so hard on yourself.

Me: K.

Mistakes happen. We are not our mistakes. Don’t be ashamed of the mistakes you make. Don’t be discouraged when you don’t get things the right way. Sometimes you have to go the wrong way to find out it is the wrong way. How else will you know unless you go? At least ,you have the courage to try. Give yourself credit for that!

Enjoy making as many mistakes as you can!

Never give up: Sometimes, you have to check your input(s).

My Vizio 🖥 was NOT behaving by communicating with Alexa 🔊.

EVERY time I asked Alexa to change something, she would but Vizio would immediately switch to another input.

I tried everything. I googled. I googled again.  I googled again. I googled again.

Apparently, the fifth time was the charm. I had to go into Fire TV and make sure I had the correct input for Vizio.

When I first set up my television, I had NO idea what I was doing so had clicked on this, that AND the other thing. I had no way of knowing I had selected the wrong input.

I thought I could select any one of the numbers.

Don’t we tend to do this in our lives, beloveds: We make the wrong decisions because we didn’t know any better.

Or, due to not doing our research. Or, giving up BEFORE we got to try number five. Or, selecting any old number and “hoping” for the best.

God/Life/The Universe has left us all we need to ensure we are selecting and being hooked up to the CORRECT inputs, that we are connected to the people/places/plans that help us grow.

It’s up to us to use what we have. We have to learn what works and what doesn’t. We have to put in the effort.

We have to be gracious with ourselves when we realize we either inadvertently or purposely attached ourselves to the wrong input(s) for a variety of reasons.

This is a rest of our lives journey we are on. Take your time. It will take as long as it takes to learn, to grow, to reestablish the RIGHT connections.

We will get there. Stop rushing. Enjoy the view. Enjoy the company. Take an umbrella. Remember your sunglasses.

We CAN. We WILL. We HAVE to.
