Beautiful.
Ugly.
Two powerful words.
What makes something/someone beautiful?
What makes someone/something ugly?
Is there value only in the beautiful?
Is there no value in the supposed ugly?
Our perceptions shape our world. Our lives are determined by how we choose to see them.
I have been beautiful. I have been ugly. In my thinking. In my perceptions.
I am working on me. I am working on seeing the best in me. I am working on bringing out the best in me.
The world is full of much ugliness right now. It is also full of beauty. I continue to look for the beauty in others. I continue to pray about the ugliness in all of us.
I’m learning to see the beauty in the ugliest of things. We have to learn to love one another, flaws and all. We have to learn to work on our flaws. Together.
Life is worth living. Folk are making it impossibly difficult to want to live in a world that is filled with such hate right now. We don’t have to live in an ugly world that is full of hate.
I choose to love my fellow man. Even the ones who cause me to shake my head, in wonder and sadness. Actually, I do not understand how people can gleefully celebrate the hurt of others. I don’t understand that. I hurt when you hurt. I don’t have to know you. I just need to know that you’re a human being that is hurting.
Let’s start pulling out the beauty in one another. Let’s work to get the ugliness out of our hearts and out of our actions. We can. We have to.

Note: I try to keep the current climate out of my blog. I leave it for others to spread divisiveness, hatred, and fear. I pray for them. I hope for the best for them and their families.
There is too much hate not to confront it. I choose to combat it with love. I choose to shine my light and focus on love. Life is short. Love one another. starting with you.
One step.
One step.
One step.
You are loved.
You are NOT alone.
Keep on being…YOU!
