With resignation. Almost, with me. I say almost because I ALMOST allowed resignation to have my dreams.
Disappointment was loud. Hope was being awfully timid. Patience stood by waiting on MY response.
God/Life/The Universe refused to get involved. This was MY fight. These were MY dreams. These dreams were mine to attend to, to fight for, to nurture, to champion, to relentlessly pursue.
Last night, I truly did seriously consider tossing my dreams aside. I told myself I would start looking for regular work on Monday. On Monday, beloveds, I was going to start living a life of quiet desperation.
To hell with that!!!π‘π―
I just stopped by to shake somebody. Dammit, we have quit on our dreams enough, already!
Enough!
Don’t you DARE give yourself permission to dismiss you and your dreams. They matter. You matter.
Flame out. Then, get back in the fight. I mean it. We have too blasted many thangs to do, beloveds. Our dreams may be wrapped up in each other’s dreams!
What if your dreams mixed up in mine? Your dreams are much too important for me to give up.
My words may hold your key. Your key may open my door. Ah, beloveds, keep going. Even when it’s especially hard right now.

Note: We CAN. We WILL. We have to. If you can’t have your dream today, go help someone else reach theirs.
Note: I have been battling with frustration ALL morning.
Frustration is currently angry. I made it clean out the fridge and take out the garbage.
Later and lazy are smart enough to lay low.
I absolutely REFUSE to allow my feels to affect my try or my day.
I am making my day amazing. Frustrating learning and all.
I refuse to stop until I have learned something new. Good luck with that, doubt just said. I think I will make doubt vaccuum the floor when frustration returns from its trash run.
We will never know what we can do until we try to do something. Do something today.
Note: My dreams used to be heavy. They used to feel hopeless. Not anymore. They seem possible. I wonder if there is a pot of gold at the end of my rainbow. I’m going to do the best I can to find out.
Wow, was I just a big dummy just now….hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!
I have been listening to some uplifting music videos, on the television, while also working on some pieces and looking at an uplifting video, by Myles Monroe, who was talking about how to receive God’s Promises and talking about prayer, on the laptop.
Anywho, he had said something super motivating and I wanted to replay what he said. Instead of reaching for the mouse I, ehem, ooops, reached for the television remote and grew frustrated pressing buttons to rewind the computer!
I love Kenny Rogers! I love singing ‘Through The Years’. The song reminds me to keep being good to me. The song helps me to remember that I have done the best I could through the years and I will continue doing so.
I have been my own best friend through the years. I will continue to do so.
I’m getting a kick out of this me. I love this me. I look forward to being around this me. There is no one else in the world like me!
Enjoy yourself today. Stop focusing on all your flaws. What do you enjoy about yourself? If you don’t know, find out.
Be your own best friend today.

Note: How much time do you spend, each day, with you getting to know YOU? Stop chasing behind people who could care less about you. Spend some time with you. What do you dream of doing? Are you working towards that dream? If not, start today. Life is short.
Enjoy your flaws. We all have them. They are nothing to be ashamed of. We work on them. We love ourselves, still. Keep on loving you. allow others to love you as well. Get out there and live. Have a marvelous rest of your day?
Everywhere, EVERYWHERE, protections are being removed for women, the disabled, gay folk and people of color.
The government has literally labeled diversity, equity and inclusion as “illegal and immoral”…*sigh*.
I asked God what do I DO/SAY about these things?
I absolutely REFUSE to view my fellow men/women as my enemy.
I simply REFUSE to make my blog “colorblind” and not honor the wonderful cultures and country we all come from.
I will NEVER write to encourage only those who look, sound and believe as I do.
This blog is my love letter to my fellow men/women. This is where we come together, TOGETHER, to find encouragement, laughter, act right, joy, support and many things.
God’s Answer?
Love.
Live.
Laugh.
Keep on being…YOU.
Simple as that.
I will.
I do.
If you are a person of color in America just now, be encouraged.
If you are not a person of color, I wonder how you must feel about all this. Does it matter to you? Do we folk of color truly not MATTER? Is it REALLY okay for our children to go hungry? Is it honestly okay to criminalize allowing us to have the opportunity only white folk are to be afforded? What makes the rest of us unworthy?
To ALL of us, I ask:
Will you consider these words and make the choice to be a light?
That’s all I am asking.
Okay, back to my regularly scheduled programming. Geez, tho. Please share your thoughts in the comment. I could use a shoulder or two or ten…*sigh*.

While I am working on my dreams, beloveds, I am doing my best to support other folk’s dreams.
In so doing, this has taken some of the hard out of my try. Rather, I’m focusing less on the hard, and more on just BEING.
I just enjoyed writing this morning. I wasn’t concerned about who would stop by. I didn’t fret about who would care about what I had to say.
I wrote. I cared. I enjoyed the writing. I thoroughly enjoyed caring about and praying for folk.
When I was done I prayed:
God, here are my three fishes and loaves of bread. Would you please multiple them, just as Jesus did, when He fed all those people? Help me make a difference. Bless the words You have given me. Help me to remember I am more than what I do. Thank You for caring for us all. Help us to care for one another. Help us make our dreams come true. Amen and Amen.
EVERY day, I ask for blessings for EVERY heart that stops by. I pray for those who shall never come this way.
I stated loudly, my FEELINGS on his WRONG opinion. I went on to explain LOUDLY/PROUDLY why MY opinion was the one I should go with.
In truth, I initially only half listened to what he said. I let my passion take over, and ALL I became concerned with was letting passion have her way in defending what I wanted.
Eventually, I realized he was right, coming from HIS standpoint and other factors he had tried to tell me BEFORE I got my huff and puff on.
Now, I was fighting with TWO, self inflicted issues:
Feeling like I wasn’t allowed to be heard because my voice gets super loud when I am super excited. I’m not angry. The opposite, in fact. I’m excited. I want to share that excitement. In real time. As ME. The EXCITED me.
The only problem is the other side hears a raised voice, especially coming from a black woman, and it is almost automatically silenced as being angry, aggressive and shut down.
My friend did NOT do that. I didn’t give him the chance. I immediately became defensive, which led to me being aggressive.
I recognized this and found my act right.
My second issue was not listening all the way through. I jumped in. With two incredibly loud feet. I defeated the whole purpose of asking for HIS opinion/feedback. Oops. I sowwy, my friend.
I HAVE to give a shout out to him. He could have easily terminated the conversation and left me to my dumbness. He didn’t. He let me explain. He explained back. We moved on.
He was right and helped me see important truths I will need moving forward. He helped me see, and work on, the part of my heart, still smarting, from being shut down by others. By me. I’m still a work in progress.
I just stopped by to help someone BEFORE they blow up a relationship by allowing ego to get in the way.
Your people care. They give their opinion and feedback based on their love for you and concern for your future. The ones who are in your corner, that is.
That’s why it’s important to recognize who is giving the feedback. If a critic, LISTEN. Gather, what truth is there. Leave the rest where it is. Don’t worry about the π delivery. Take advantage of the gold left behind!
I’m glad I recognized and checked ego. Initially, I just kept saying “No” to what he told me to DO. It was in direct conflict with what I wanted to do.
As it turns out, I will need to do his thing AND my thing. In two separate spaces. I was trying to jam too many things into one section. They won’t fit.
My friend is saving me time, struggle, and π€ frustration by trying to fit the right thing into the wrong vehicle.
I have been praying for months about which way to go/grow. God used my friend. I almost turned said friend away and added a ton of π wasted time β I can’t afford to throw away.
I know this is a long piece. Purposefully so. Sometimes, beloveds, it’s important to take your time and share your HEART, not your anger or past wounds, with a friend.
I share both with you, so maybe you can recognize a bit of a boo boo in you.
Just my thoughts.
Cassandra

Note: This was not an easy piece to write. I’m still working on me. Be gentle with you as you work on yourself and allow yourself to grow and be redirected. Be willing to tell ego to stand down as you show folk who you are. You will be glad you did.
